Might give that a miss ...

Put another way we are 23rd favourites out of 24 to go up !!

Interestingly and  presumably because of the unknown points deduction we are not yet listed in the relegation betting !!

I'd be more inclined to look at odds for relegation.

I don' think you'll be getting much value there - we already know we're starting on -12, that could get a whole lot worse yet, due to not finishing last seasons fixtures. I'd not be surprised to see us start on -20

Its the great unknown, if we have money to spend before August we can be one of the better teams in the league (assuming we lose Parky).  If we are just making do on free transfers and loans, getting in players who have no immediate ambition to be in a promotion fight, we wont even make a fight of stopping up given where we're starting from (-12 pts minimum and no players to speak of).  We will just be looking at being competitive in Div 2 the year after.

We are under embargo so won't be able to spend fees. The new owners might appeal this - but even then the financial rules in league one are tight so we won't be on any spending sprees.

Don't think the bookies know any more than we do about what will happen over the next few weeks so they're just throwing out a price to see who bites. We need title winning form just to get to the playoffs and to do that we need to get a rich owner, top players whilst under an embargo and have a bit of luck thrown in. And we don't even no for sure that we won't be liquidated yet so there are a lot of ducks to line up before I'd consider throwing money at the bookies.

I'm still struggling with why a points deduction for a game played this season is applied next season

If we hadn't played a game in October, it wouldn't be a points deduction the following season

Because there's needs to be a punishment. Like going into admin after you've gone down and taking the points deduction that season. It's no punishment

If a player gets sent off on the last day of the season, doesn't their ban roll over to the next season?

I had a small bet on us to be relegated again at 7/1 a few weeks ago before they removed us from the market. Felt it was going to be way too big given we had the admin penalty + potentially more and they hadn't adjusted it yet.

Looks like we're back on at 5/2 joint second favourites.

Hopefully it doesn't come in and we're up the other end though.

Love a punt. I wouldn't put a red cent on us to be promoted when we are starting on minus 12 points.

Anyone want to take 30-1 with me. No chance of promotion. Happy with mid table obscurity next season - not least because we must still be in existence to be there!

I bet there there are punters in GB or worldwide that wont know we've been deducted points (if Brechin or Dukla Prague had points deducted I wouldnt be aware of it).  There will be plenty thinking that our long odds are because we are skint and will lump on at 20/1.  The points deduction should be stated surely.

I agree it should be deducted the same season, it should punish the current team, otherwise there is literally no penalty for the current squad.  If half the squad is leaving, which is normal at many EFL clubs, they can decide not to bother with a couple of games to avoid injury etc knowing it will be somebody else's problem the next season.  What puzzles me is why there is absolutely no urgency to sort out the punishment, is it really so difficult compared to other penalties/suspensions that are routinely dished out every month?

I understand what you’re saying

but I’m fairly sure we will get a further deduction for next season
