Comparing ourselves to others from a young age, getting teenagers in the mindset to flirt with stress and anxiety with exams, so that if they do well, they can take more exams, often for a job that doesn't even exist yet. Who is telling you what to think, what to say, and how to act? Can you not just ignore them?

I do miss the old days though - radio, print, TV, loads of Out of Home, easier to do and costs more and less management; but there you go. Actually I need to chat, looking at holidays next year but not being part of the millionaires club I'm working to a tight budget. Tight budgets are my forte. Very hard to do when you’re an anxious teenager mate. I see kids younger and younger getting sucked into it. CAHMS referrals are through the roof. Was at suicide prevention training a few months back and so much of it seemed to come back to social media & all the things @only1swanny was talking about. Social media has its benefits but it shouldn’t be given to children. It shouldn’t be accessed by teens until they’re 17/18 & have been educated to prepare for it. You're a clever lad Cheese with decent comprehension skills 👍 Have another read of his post where (after the fist point) he uses language such as "early age, teenagers and "they". His points are pretty valid. Don't follow RW and get caught up in irrelevant points. x

Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted August 27 Site Supporter Share Posted August 27 Fuck me, seasonal Mr Black Dog arrived Friday. Obviously post seizure, the brain is a bit haywire, but that was getting better. However, it's as if we went from full summer to autumn instantaneously. No doubt this bastard weather has brought it on a bit sooner, it's a cunt.

Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted August 28 Site Supporter Share Posted August 28 Cheers gents. Had a good night's sleep last night. After 2 rough ones. Shaky shoulders and lower legs this morning, but definitely a bit better. Lad's off to uni soon, and we've had some stressful times over his future, which hasn't helped. Apron strings and all that! At the moment, there is a big social movement of acceptance and understanding, which is good in its own right, but this has also led to too many people deciding "they've got mental health" without remotely knowing the difference between a genuine illness and a difficult/stressful period. That's why we have GP services etc.
