New dawn for fans.

Right then it seems FV are doing the business on the playing side of things.

What can we do as fans that'll help push the new era forwards.

One thing i think we can do is all those who want a sing song and banter at the game need to congregate in one area again. Be it under the score board or in NSL. The amount of times i hear folk saying i sit in the west upper and the atmosphere is bobbins is silly. The only way the atmosphere will improve is if we as fans make it improve.

Doing the club lotteries has been mentioned before but is a good way to support the community stuff the club does.

Perhaps we all need to go Full Tony Pulis and dress head to toe in stuff from the club shop.

The club ran as a business for too long and it destroyed the link to the community and fan base, which only pushed fans away and gave people reason for not wanting to put money into the clubs coffers.

I don't want to go through these past 3/4 years again with the club. So if FV are receptive to bringing the fans back closer to the club again any ideas for what can be done on both sides to make it happen

A proper crack at creating the fanzone.

Decent ale at reasonable prices in more of a pub-type atmosphere as opposed to the sterile offerings previously attempted.

Absolutely right. Was always surprised the club didn't pick up that Italian place at the top of the steps by Subway and make it a Wanderers pub or summat

Fanzone idea is a really good one. Done properly, with sensible prices would be great for fans and make a modest profit for club.

Its not just the money though, it would be another coup for FV and show the fans they are actively trying to rebuild the relationship.

It feels to me a lot like when Rioch became manager.......hopefully the momentum will grow as quickly now as it did then and the youngsters who have had an awful experience watching the whites over last few years ( on the whole ) can really see what a true, together, and enthused Wanderers crowd really sounds like.

Fan zone is a big one.

Getting kids in and keeping them renewing is the longer term goal. We've basically been giving it away for a generation and won't realise the benefit of that approach now as on the pitch we've been shit for years so people fuck it off.

Keep the momentum of this period of 'backs to the wall' mentality and good will from the fans for as long as possible!

I'd also like to see Lion of Vienna suite be carrs pasties and peas and a few hundred quid a year cheaper!

A section with unreserved seats would help fans congregate together, not sure if that’s possible as it might alienate ST holders who’ve had same seat for years. The original fan zone was decent and was very well attended, but could be improved, real ales, gin bar, etc. Issue being that room is also used for other events.

A massive marquee sorts that out.

Mary Ds prime example of getting folk together and ready for the match

This is where the ST should be finding its true place and mission within the club.

If they ended up responsible for creating a proper fanzone along the lines of Trafs suggestion, or organise the sprucing up of the stadium, or manage to organise some sort of semi-regular fun day for younger supporters - or all of the above, they'll suddenly find themselves popular again.

Bang on Traf. Doesn’t have to be too clever either. The thing at West Brom works a treat.

Tent thing selling ale in plastic bottles, burger vans, badge sellers and stuff for the kids to with lofty the lion and all that caper.

The food court at old Trafford is superb and all could rent off the the club/pbp and generate income that way.

Like Traf says the other offerings were a bit crap. Let’s get people to the ground and keep them there. Get some pissing heating on under the stand too and some benches along the wall or summet for the old duffers.

From what I’ve heard on the grapevine FV are all over getting local businesses involved, bank top brewery etc

As for the atmosphere, nobody is going to move now so it is what it is. It’ll be fine with the current mood.

The connection with the town is already well under way seeing as every single high ranking personell is born and bread bolton bar Big Sharron

hopefully they'll have a massive push on season tickets, emails and letters sent to all ex season ticket holders etc

most wanted a new start, now they have it

And hopefully a proper call to arms from the BN too, probably not as effective as they used to be but some front page rallies to reconnect with the club would be good.

Actual adverts and billboards in town maybe too. In fact you barely see a mention of the club in that town centre.

They should leaflet drop all the mosques and kebab shops as well. Get the ray guns involved.

Surely there is a place at the side of the ground for a big marquee. Get local ales in there, Bank top brewery and others would be interested

Bit of a juxtaposition in two consecutive posts!😄

Big marquee, all set up like a beer festival. Stallholders pay a small fee to have a pitch, but BWFC also have a bar selling lager, bitter, cider & a stout-type drink at a reasonable price.

Local-is independent breweries tout their wares to a wider audience than before and still make a quid or two.

Club's happy, local breweries are happy, fans are happy. What's not to like?

Maybe some music, but no stage for guests or shitty quizzes etc

We definitely need to get the community and especially kids - our future fanbase - more involved. With such a big stadium to fill, perhaps FV should consider offering kids for a quid for schools, sports clubs, scouts/guides - any kids organisation providing they come with adults to supervise (who would be admitted for free like stewards) and then try to recoup some income from selling pop and sweets etc.

Would there be any issue with having small local business stalls inside and outside the ground and taking a commission? Cinema/American football style folk with trays of drinks and food in the stands? Letting local businesses invited to maintain and redecorate the ground to have advertising space (this wall painted by xxx ltd, this bog cleaned by yyy) ? Matchday art exhibitions for local artists? Local sports/gym/dance clubs and bands giving displays/performances before the game and during half time to advertise themselves? (I'd stop short of having a motorcycle display team or a cattle show on the pitch)

Needs a bit of imagination and especially organisation but the point is that there are multiple wins for the club: Better matchday atmosphere, future fans attracted, more diverse income streams, better community relations, more potential for sponsorship.

And your target market is? No it's a great idea for outside the ground and for a certain section of the fans, but I reckon there could and should be a lot more happening inside the ground as well and for a broader audience. Need a bit more interest and glitz than dancing teenage birds if we're going to increase the fanbase. It needs to be a circus of and for the local community or perhaps more of a showcase.
