We went in escape lounge pre Dubai flight. Flight was around 9pm so fairly late by Manchester airport standards. This meant it wasn't rammed so our £30 each was fairly reasonable. Not sure we got through £30 worth of booze and food but whatever we didn't drink or eat our way through was worth it to be out of the way of the stag parties trying to drink the public bars dry.

Would certainly spend that money again next time we fly.

I did that escape lounge once

Completely dog shit

Bottles of Fosters and a bacon sandwich

I fucked it off and went into a normal bar for a proper breakfast and a pint

I did exactly the same and for the same reasons.

I was in the BA lounge at Heathrow earlier this year and that wasn't much better to be honest. Looking to have a slap up brekky after a 10 hour flight - the choice was dismal and there was nothing bigger than a side plate available

You didn’t take your big plate?

Done Escape Lounge a few times. Standard seems to vary from terminal to terminal. A few times it’s been very comfortable and decent scran, but it was crap the last time we were there. Hardly any seats, food lukewarm at best and full of scruffy twats and their uncontrollable bastard offspring. No kids in 1903 I think which is a big selling point, will give that a go next time we’re travelling child-free and not flying daft early.

There's another one opposite the escape lounge in T1 (Aspire Lounge) which is a full £1 dearer than the escape room, so isn't full of scutters

Pre-booking required. We just called in on the off chance and Escape Lounge was the only one with space. There was an Emirates Lounge too but that was by invitation only... and we were flying with them, the wankers!

I've paid up, dunno if too early, but at the end of the day Doris is struggling to move. I'll have my fill, she'll have a bit and hopefully we'll blag a buggy.

Let the airline know - Getting pushed round in a wheelchair is the best way to avoid queues, but you can't occupy emergency exit seats

Just checked and we were in Aspire in the summer en route to Cyprus but in T2. Shite. Escape T1 was great when travelling to Canada last year though.

Executive lounge at Manchester Airport. Any good? Looking at £90 for two. I can sup £45 quid worth in two hours.

Any discount codes etc? Cheers

I went in it a few weeks back because our flight (and many others) had a three hour delay due to an issue with French air traffic control, and the terminal was absolutely heaving.

Wouldn't usually pay it but under those circumstances, comfy seats, plenty of booze and decent grub beat sitting on the floor with a Boots meal deal listening to screaming kids. Pretty good to be honest, set the holiday off really well.

No idea on discount codes, I paid walk up £45 each (thought it was cheaper if you pre-booked though?)

Lounges are aways cheaper pre-booked.

I use a Dragonpass card that costs me £128 per year, but gets me 8 visits to lounges around the world. I can also add more visits at £16 a throw and I can use as many as I want as once, so when me, the wife & junior go, I can use 3 visits at once from the same card.

You need to pre book assistance needed with the airline, they meet you at check-in with a wheelchair and you get fast tracked through passport control and security and board first, they even help you with your luggage and escort you to your transport.

I use similar priority pass, groupon do half price deals on priority pass membership after initial joining fee it’s £20 per person. No need to pre book.

That's right, just pitch up.

As for the standard of the non-premium lounges, I still think they're worth the money to be sat away from the stag/hen parties, more comfortable surroundings if not exactly luxury. Free wifi, food & drink etc. A relaxing start to your journey.

100% agree the peace and quiet and a seat and table guaranteed makes the pre flight experience much better.

especially having to have endured the shittest airport experience before getting to the lounge.

Groupon currently have a £22 deal for Aspire lounge in Manchester T1

Basically 3 drinks and a butty and you're up on the deal.
