There's a thread about Bolton's points deductions and they're actually quite sympathetic. Admittedly this was prior to yesterday.

It's more likely to be a reaction after the fact than before. At the moment it's an abstract conversation about what may happen to another club, once it's a decision there'll be more attention and more positive or negative reaction, particularly once people start talking about how it could affect them or what precedents it sets etc. 

I've seen a few articles talking about Bury and Macclesfield as well with people calling for some structural changes to the league and how it deals with financial issues. So maybe there'll be some good comes out of this in the longer term.

Peterborough's chairman is complaining that Wycombe et al had an advantage playing us early before we strengthened the squad.

Get this, we strengthened inside the transfer window, everyone else had already had the opportunity to sign the players we brought in. 

Secondly, 10 of yesterday's 18-man squad were in the squad at Wycombe.

If the EFL punish us now, it will be wrong. They are at least partially to blame. The only people who pay the penalty and are the current owners and us fans. The EFL are morally bankrupt. Fuck em.

Also, didnt the efl say we should call off the brentfotd game and they wouldnt require us to play it

Back in 2016 we were already fucked with Eddie Davies selling the car park and training ground to pay bills and then of course we were up in the High Court over unpaid tax.The EFL would have come in for dogs abuse if they'd refused to allow a sale to Ken.

I had to refresh myself with it, I posted a BBC link a page or so back 

Apparently the re arranged Tuesday night couldn’t go ahead as we didn’t have a safety certificate 

After that the EFL said the rules are that they couldn’t re arrange for any more than three days after the end of the regular season 

It should have been a points deduction off last seasons tally, leaving us bottom, then we could have come into this season fresh. I still can’t comprehend how we can get punished for that one this season

Quite possibly, however he proved to be exactly as we were warned.

The efl should therefore have stronger procedures: if that meant Ken had to put the money up first, into a bond or something, that the efl looks after, then we could have had some confidence.

Had they been quicker off the mark and decided our punishment before the start of the season then they absolutely could have invoked it after the Donny game. That said, maybe the EFL were worried that a potential further deduction might have affected the takeover?

That was my point. IF they'd already awarded a suspended points deduction for the Brentford game then yes, I'm sure we'd have invoked the points deduction. The point is that they hadn't awarded us a suspended points deduction so they can't retrospectively do so knowing it had already been invoked.

Yeah it sounds fair enough when you put it like that. In my scenario though we only end up with -6 whereas if they take 3 straight away for Brentford then that could mean a bigger punishment for Donny as a second offence?

Look, just hit us with a -3pts for the Brentford game,but add it to last season because thats when the “offence” was committed, then give us a slap us on the wrist for the Donny game because we were just acting in the best interests of our kids. Then we can carry on with what we do best - annoying the fuck out of folk 😂

Points deduction. Appeal. On review a suspended punishment. We're off the hook, the efl are off the hook. Questions in the House. Efl dragged in front of a committee. Efl get arses slapped for being a set of incompetent wankers. We stay up. Bassini puts a ridiculous high bid in for us. The 3 amigos sell. Fast forward 3 years and we build another tier on the east stand and Laurence Bassini gets a knighthood.

Is it just me or the EFL bottling it? They've failed to announce it so far after it being this day, that day, the other day. Now put back again.

Said it before - we got punished for Brentford, we lost the points, we lost gate receipts, and the fans lost a match off their season ticket. Sponsors missed out. Etc. Enough folk got punished for that day. Whilst Brentford saved money on not travelling up. For me that's done. Why punish a new regime over the old regime and old set of players actions?

As for Doncaster - it was a situation created by the EFL allowing us to play games when in admin with no senior players. They themselves should have had the foresight to amend our early season fixtures to accommodate our "youthful" team and have only one match per week. And if that meant us being expelled from the League Cup and EFL Trophy competitions - then so be. And once again - why punish the new regime and new players who weren't involved when the Donny game was postponed. Doesn't make sense.

Suspended sentence of points deductions sounds about right - I doubt we'll be postponing games in the near future. So its a punishment that's pointless (pun there somewhere) - but should suffice to keep the moaners and haters from the other clubs at bay.

Our favourite grief monger Nixon suggested the decision was made Friday but isn't being publicly announced until Wednesday.

That would suggest the actual decision is already known within the club but I don't know why it hasn't been announced yet. What's another few days when you've been waiting 7 months, I suppose.
