Its only my opinion and I could be well wide of the mark, but I prefer to see the manager look like a manager. I wouldnt expect the owners and directors to turn up in a tracksuit. Nobody can guarantee or control football results but they can definitely control how they project themselves and the club.

But that's not uncommon on New Years Day, and not just at Bolton, especially 3 days after the previous home game. Let's be honest who got up on NY Day buzzing to go to the game? Holiday games just dont have the feel of Saturday games and in our situation, and playing teams we dont care about, its going to take a lot to get the crowd going. To be fair we got something approaching an atmosphere in the last 15 minutes. Just under 12k according to Iles. Numbers don't really equate to atmosphere though I know (hello Anfield right now) but definitely not the most appealing fixture in the world. Speaking of holiday games, matches at half 12 and 8pm on NYD... Grim.

Ani
Just watching Derby v Barnsley. Lad lost ball and took the other player out as he moved away. Miles worse than Murphy second card. No booking.

The goals were celebrated properly and did get the crowd going. For 2 minutes. Then they scored a soft goal as we retreated and everyone in the ground could sense this wasnt going to end well, our goals were great but didnt reflect the game. I'm not defending the performance in any way but for the middle 70 minutes of the match, the players attitude appeared to reflect the crowd. Going through the motions, feeling flat and tired, it was all a bit too much effort after a busy Christmas. For once I'm grateful not to still be in the FA Cup. Don’t get it at all. Kids were a bit intimidated by it all. Is the the Trust or the Club who run Fanzone? Yes i agree. I went in for a beer with my Mrs and two kids (the youngest being 7 years old) we were all subjected to a body search + a going over with the metal detector by an unfriendly, unsmiling bunch of robots - it all felt a bit over the top. Once inside, it wasn't even busy at the bar, but the bar staff were absolutely clueless, one lad took my order + money, whilst another barman served 3 other people before me then eventually asked me what i wanted and then poured my drinks whilst continuously asking me to confirm what drinks i had ordered. I was getting a bit pissed off by this point and a Pavarotti lookalike who appeared to be "in charge" mumbled "What's your problem bro?" I guess we've brought in some out of town company to deal with the security/bar service - they need fucking off asap because they're totally shit.. The Fanzone wasn't a pleasant experience for myself and my family and i won't be going back. Edited January 2, 2020 by Burndens Bogs

I’d have thought the new owners would be all over the fanzone to make it a pleasurable experience for fans and encourage folk to the ground earlier and to stay after and spend money. I might be over critical but shouldn’t Shazza and Emma be on the case rather than having pictures taken with some shite racing driver in an attempt to give BWFC some kudos. Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted January 3, 2020 Site Supporter Share Posted January 3, 2020 The club has been busy taking on new staff recently. Still plenty of agency types, but maybe we need to give it time. My experience of service at the usual outlet hasn't changed; they're largely poor, incompetent at times. I find it amazing how many seem to be from overseas and have poor English.

The kiosks seemed to be heading in the right direction earlier in the season, but they were worse than ever against Southend. Suppose the time of year isn't great for getting your 'regular' casual staff to work so there might have been an over-reliance on agencies for the last three games.
