The prognosis for football clubs is bad I can see fans turning away from the game in droves, folk found other more rewarding things to do, add to that the privileged life’s these footballers lead and the detachment from everyday life for normal joe public and I think football as we know it and in particular the British publics love affair with the game might change dramatically.

Nah

As soon as we’re back playing you’ll be there.

Everyone will.

I think people are just filling the gap. I think when it returns it’ll be bigger than ever. Like the start of a new season.

Saying that I can’t say I’ve missed watching it as much as I thought I would, I do miss work though.

Missed it not going to the game.

Not missed it being on TV one jot. Whereas previously I would have put the game on, Ive found other stuff to do.

Is there room for a big gay pile on in the man and scythe?

but count me in for sure anyway

No but that just makes it better.
Then to the swan after it for a game of pull a granny

the lack of space along with the diminishing inhibitions after two ciders makes it all the more fun

I can see this break being all I need to pack it all in.

Haven't enjoyed watching Bolton for a few years now and haven't missed it at all.

You are fuckin joking.

You’re having plenty to drink at the first game.

And you’re in the middle of the big gay pile on. 😁

Not enjoy taking daughter away games mate?

I enjoy the time together and the fact we have a common interest, but as I don't really drink much when she's around, it gets to be a bit of a drag sometimes. I'm spending upwards of £150 some games and being sober. We travel to most games on our own, so I'm not even getting into the camaraderie of being in a group often either.

As above, I don't really get to have a drink at the game. Maybe when Jnr's a bit older

Would she let you?

No, probably not.

Who knows? I might feel different when the option is there, but I'm certainly not missing the actual "football"

No, probably not.

The one good thing that has come from her being into it, is that at football she doesn't come across as the shy reclusive set in her ways autistic child that she is. And she now knows quite a few people on at least nodding if not speaking terms.

When daughters flights home for easter were cancelled, she wrote this season off

Think shes getting an idea this summer could be a brucie bonus

Id better start saving up

If you stick with it now Traf in a few years time she’ll be driving then it’s a free lift 😁

When we found out we were having a girl I was ever so slightly gutted because I just envisioned taking my son to the match but my daughter is almost 3 and her favourite thing to do is run around the garden blocking the ball or sitting with me whilst I watch games.
It’s slightly killed my wife because I think she envisioned a pink pony riding little girl and at the moment she’s just not that.

I don’t think any of us are missing the actual football, but that probably only applies to fans of a select few number of clubs anyway.

I never thought I’d be so glad to have gone to Wimbledon and, to a lesser extent, Burton.

Prob wrong place for this, but if there was no lockdown in place, would you go to wimbledon and do all the things again if it was this saturday

No, of course not.

I was highlighting why I'm not missing going full stop, as I don't enjoy the other benefits that most do. Partly because of my own reservations about getting pissed with a 14 (now15) yr old in tow.

It feels like end of the season anyway. Should be going into the cricket season, weather is good so doesn't feel right now.

I’ll be honest i think it’s the fact I’m not desperate to see our relegation confirmed and any end to the season will be shite.
