Whitestar
There's a piece in the BEN about BWFC most underrated players. Agree with a few, Branny Simon Charlton Roy Greaves etc , and even agree about Henrik Pedersson. But would like to add a mainly forgotten face from a dark time where he was consistently the best player on the pitch in a White shirt. Brian Borrows. Went on to play for years at the top level without really ever grabbing the glory.
Moderators Zico Posted April 10, 2020 Moderators Share Posted April 10, 2020 Barness did his bit too alongside Charlton Pederson was underrated by everyone, except @Ani
Leyther_Matt
I wouldn’t call Branagan under rated myself, he always tends to crop up in ‘best ever’ discussions and had his share of adulation at the time. Colin Hendry had a particularly underestimated effect, I reckon.

Site Supporter RONNIE PHILLIPS Posted April 10, 2020 Site Supporter Share Posted April 10, 2020 Nathan Blake as well, might not have been a clinical finisher but he was immense in his own way.
deane koontz
Simon Charlton solid at left back and was great when he had to play center back for a short arse.
dusan nikolic
Andy Todd was quality that year in the Prem.
Tungsten3
I thought mike whitlow did a good job for us at both centre back and left back. One of the last vocal leaders on the pitch we had.
Dr Faustus
Underrated XI can be formed on this thread. I'll add; Matt Clarke Scott Green Simon Coleman Ian Marshall

Whitestar
Didn't Bruce Rioch try to do a citizen's arrest on Gabbiadini ? Reckons it was ABH.

paulhanley
I think the classic unsung hero from the 1970s was Peter Nicholson. Somebody else mentioned Brian Borrows from the 80s - a shining light at a gloomy time. In the 1990s I'd be tempted to go for Robbie Elliott once he'd been switched to central midfield. Thereafter: Mick Whitlow, Simon Charlton, Anthony Barness, Gareth Farrelly, Emerson Thome for a short time, Tamir Cohen did well for a bit and chipped in with a few goals. Later still - Gary O'Neil was a true pro in his time with us, it was a shame we couldn't keep hold of Lukas Jutkiewicz.
