Leyther_Matt
Would have been a lot to pay for a back up keeper given Jussi was always going to be back to number one (or 22 in his case) when fit again.

Something rings a bell that we would go to 400k but they wanted 1m

Yes he was an unfair scapegoat (as they have so often been when you think of the likes of Farrelly, Pedersen and Pratley) but he’d lost his spark by the end and looked like he needed a fresh start. Adlington Trotter
I don't think Kevin Nolan was underrated by Bolton fans, but maybe by the wider football world. I don't think Eagles got enough praise. He had his off days, but when he was on it he could be a massive pain in the arse for opponents. Always a goal threat as well. His last minute winner against Blackburn is up there with my best BWFC moments.
Site Supporter RONNIE PHILLIPS Posted April 10, 2020 Site Supporter Share Posted April 10, 2020 I think Nobby lost some of his mojo when Sam left, only guessing but I think it affected him most. By the time Megson was in his pomp I think he really needed a fresh start.

His biggest problem was that he left the coat hanger in his shirt. I know Gardner was loved by the fans but in terms of a player I think he was incredibly underrated. I thought he was outstanding, a great pro, always worked hard, always gave it his all, and just overall a fantastic player. Top servant for the club. When we’re talking about all time club greats he should be in the debate.
Site Supporter RONNIE PHILLIPS Posted April 11, 2020 Site Supporter Share Posted April 11, 2020 I reckon when it was going well for Nicky Hunt he wasn't far away from an England call up. There were very few decent English right backs after Neville.

I seem to remember him getting injured with a dislocated shoulder right before a squad was announced when Neville was injured and I thought that was his time. Who came on for Hunt when he was injured?
