How would it work you can only sack in the window and sign a new manger in the window?

I doubt if windows are actually legal. Limiting movement of workers to just 3 months of the year seems to be a restrictive practice. It would need a challenge in the courts from a player to see the back of them, per Bosman. Things turned out badly for him, so likely none are too keen.

Itvis legal. There's no restrictive practice, you can move easily enough during the windows. It limits the periods you can actively move but you still can. It doesn't fundamentally restrict your actions.

Furyher, an employee could terminate his contract & move. It would mean breaking your contract & leave you liable to be sued. Each contract is a fixed-term one, setting duration and notice periods.

The will look a little different to yours or mine, for obvious reasons, but the fundamentals are essentially the same.

It appears to me that managers are less committed these days.

Its just a thought i've had and put it out there

Make hay while the sun shines.

Clubs are a lot less likely to give a manager time now, the notorious Deadly Doug Ellis sacked 11 managers in nearly 35 years. And he was considered an exception.

Compare that to Forest, or Sunderland lately. Or Even ourselves since Sam left.

Listening back to this. Watched some of it when he was appointed but hits home much more now he's part of the BWFC family

This time last year, after spending most of the pre season emptying boxes of tissues over it, this video seemed like utter, utter nonsense. Most of the non-negotiables seemed forgotten.

At least they were running off the pitch at half time still though...

Im glad he's ours.

ANTONI Sarcevic fired an answer to his critics at Charlton on Tuesday night – but Ian Evatt feels neither his captain nor senior striker Eoin Doyle are getting enough credit for what they are doing for Wanderers.

Sarcevic has been Bolton’s Mr Tuesday night since picking up the skipper’s armband last summer – scoring six of his 10 goals for the club under the midweek lights.

But the midfielder’s recent performances have been put under scrutiny in some quarters – much like team-mate Doyle, who came under fire for a few high-profile misses in defeats against Rotherham United and Sunderland.

Doyle could not get on the scoresheet at Charlton – spending much of a fruitless night harrying and closing down the home defenders.

In fact, the Irishman managed just 10 touches of the ball in his 85 minutes on the pitch, just two of which were in the opposition penalty box.

But Evatt insists both players bring more to the team than may first meet the eye.

“To be honest, Sarce and Doyler’s work ethic for the team, people that have criticised the pair of them in the past or criticised Eoin on Saturday for missing chances, the work that Eoin does for this team is incredible and people have to remember that,” he said.

“There’s a lot resting on his shoulders with goals, of course there is, and I’ve said on Monday about other people chipping in and helping Eoin, but this team can’t function without someone in the number nine position that works like that and he’s a credit to this football club.”

Evatt reckons Wanderers’ playing style places added demands on Doyle and Sarcevic which would not be the case for a normal striker, or number 10.

And while he is keen to get as many goals as he can from two of his most experienced attacking players, he hopes fans also recognise the work they do for the team off the ball.

“That’s us as a team, isn’t it,” he said. “We are high tempo, high intensity with and without the ball, not only is the nine expected to score, but he’s expected to press and work and hurry people and he does that for us every single time.

“We can’t really moan if he misses a chance or two because he works so hard for the team. The rest of it can’t function without that work ethic and he leads by example, as does Antoni.”

I think that some people don’t see what is happening off the ball. This is also something that Mark Patterson has mentioned to me in one of our chats over the years.

Sometimes it can be easy to criticise a striker when they’re not banging in goals but modern forwards are judged on so much more, especially in a high pressing side like ours. I’m glad people recognise how pivotal Doyle is.

Take a look at some of our strikers down the years who do the unselfish graft

Around 10 games into the season, clubs are starting to twitch and are sacking their managers, gonna be interesting to see if any of these clubs come in for our man, can't see a prem club taking a punt, but plenty of championship clubs may.

IMO, he won't go anywhere..... yet.

No sane manager should go to Watford, the lifespan of that job is 1 season, deluded pricks!

2 million quid later, i doubt theres many regrets

That’s the problem. Results aren’t good and they can sack a manager couple of million drop in the ocean for PL teams worth the gamble to get a new gaffer in

They might be getting a year's payoff for 3-6 months' work

IE on Baka

“He is a big player for us because he offers something completely different,” the Boltonboss said. “I just wish he’d stop them overhead kicks because it is a long way down from where he gets to.

“I said for him to grow into the game on Saturday, give us a bit of energy, help us keep the ball at the top end of the pitch – and then he sprints 30 yards and smashes their centre-half into Row Z. That’s him taking it easy”

Some fans questioning Evatt, are the cracks starting to show?

Imo, no, young manager playing  a decent brand of football, I just think Phil Parkinson and Keith Hill, ....I know it's nearly Halloween, but I just shivvered at the thought of the past 😏

I like Evatt, always have.

He makes mistakes and some decisions have cost us games. I’ve not seen a manager yet who doesn’t make bad decisions and cost the team games.

Lets be realistic, he’s had to dismantle the team put together in a hurry - admittedly some of his doing, some of Tobias Phoenix’s doing, but done that without spending a bean in transfer fees and won promotion.

Still not spent a bean, got a competitive squad and doing ok. There’s only so far free signing can get you as there aren’t loads available in the January window.

Anyone expecting success quickly really needs their bumps feeling

As you say he's a young manager learning his trade

At this moment in time he will make some mistakes as long as he learns from them and doesn't become entrenched in his plan's and is able to tweak things for the better he will have a good future
