One correspondent earlier saying same. Aggers bemoaning Manchester weather last week.

With a choice of 2 bioscecure venues, with some messing around, but no spectators, they could have decided where to stage based on unfolding weather. IMO.

A good idea that.

Not sure how long it would take to get a pitch absolutely bang on, but weather forecasts are pretty decent now, so should be able to give some notice.

Especially when the financials are taken into account.

The Australians visit is saving £79m for the ECB. Might as well maximise the chance of some cricket!

A wicket at that level would take about a week and a half preparation. The money they spend getting these games played could easily facilitate both grounds each preparing a first class track and the ground most likely to have the best weather would get the game.

I’m sure the unused track wouldn’t go to waste other than the ground staff’s time.

Cheers Micky. I suppose the ecb would cover any costs too.

I'm thinking setting up Sky's broadcast equipment is quite an undertaking?

Fairly sure they rock up at Reebok for a live game the day before so probably not as big a job as you’d think. Large (and regular broadcast) venues will already have the cable laid.

Aye. Plus they have to relocate quickly for back to back tests too.
