So he’s been asked to sign, I’m beginning to regret it already! The reality of no tournaments to play in is hitting home! I’m sure T has explained what’s happened and it’s all be a bit of a farce but hopefully it will all fall into place.

Now if Salford play this right and promote it well they could easily have one of the best cat 3 academies around based purely on their locality. Something the wanderers haven’t done

Trying to find a club for my lad (Year 5 next year), hitting lots of dead ends with enquiries on facebook, lads only after training with others and playing for fun.

Had the same issue with my daughter a few years ago, reckon now teams would snap up a 13 year old girl as there are more girls teams around.

Is there no football for all type clubs he can have a bash with first?

Try Bolton futsal, could start with the coaching session and it might open opportunities from there.

Going to have a delve deeper, might find an inclusive type club, know there are a few scattered about.

Bolton wanderers in the community are running sessions at St Catherine over yhe summer so might take him to a few.

Have you not tried Bolton Lads & Girls club?

That's where yoof started off.  Couldn't kick a ball when he first started and he loved it there.  He outgrew them after three years or so but it was a great place for him to start.

Jogobola, they’re little lever based and also have a futsal side which MK mentioned.

Have a look hre, will have adverts for new players and contact details for most clubs & managers.

As RW said above, Jogabola Under 10's are looking for players, any ability.

I understand there may be a change in rules next season allowing academy kids to play grassroots until u12s. Think that would be great

A lot of clubs have confirmed this now, however they’re (the coaches) not keen on it.  Billy signed for Salford last night, it was the first question I asked the head of the academy but he said they’re not sure what’s happening yet. I think It’s a case of they can’t stop them playing GR but won’t support it.

Eldest is 2 month in to his first 11 a-side season. Fuck me theres some hormones flying about. Its gone from kids playing one touch to full blooded 2 footers over night.

There was a lad marking my lad at the back for them today who wouldn't look out of place working the doors in town.

He ended up being ordered to be taken off after a few wreckless lunges at my lad and then shoving him. He was clearly pissed off with him as hed rinsed him all game and bagged a hattrick :)

It was bubbling over on the sidelines too...its only going to get worse isnt it.

Time for parents to be kept 20 or 30 yards away from the lines.

Constant stories like this.

Yes. Must be u13 is he?
I’ve got one at u13 at the mo and have coached teams in the past where soon as they turn teenagers they turn from little kids enjoying the game to gruff sounding asbo potentials shouting about snapping people and kicking off showing off in front of their mates .

it’s manageable if both set of coaches and parents are adults but unfortunately there’s a lot who aren’t and you can see where some kids get it from .

What happened to jumpers for goalposts on the back field ?

It curdles my blood reading all this at that age.

Yeah pal, 13 next time. Strange age, some kids are 6ft with bum fluff and others still in to sonic the hedgehog and 3ft 2.

Team we played were south/central Blackpool yesterday. Rough as fuck, studs up all over the show.

Hard as parent trying to keep cool when theres a parent 20 yards away actively encouraging his lad to decapitate your flesh and blood.

You can see why it goes off.

Was at Ebsfleet yesterday for ours U15 year old match. There is nothing that boils the blood more than idiot parents screeching in that awful estury accent. Faaaawwwwl Frooooowww.... or Pressssuuurrreeee every two minutes. One bloke yesterday in a TapOut T-shirt, grey joggers swiging a can of Monster wouldn't shut up, taking about players playing 'out of position' as though it was professional, not an U15 game and each team have two subs who due to kids not turning up.

Thankfully, the Canterbury parents are a much more refined bunch with our fold out chairs, coffee and cupcakes. Still, it was nice when Tap-Out's daughter conceeded a penalty.

I've had enough of grass roots football, and its nothing to do with the kids: parents are bad enough, but other coaches are worse

in other news, the youngest has made the Greater Manchester Schoolboy squad, along with one lad from Bolton schools, and the BWFC Academy keeper

Fkinell and here’s me thinking I wish I’d kept my lads in GR and not gone down the academy route. 😂

Saying that, Burnley v Wigan u13s was abandoned the other week due to parents scrapping. Most usually have a modicum of decorum. Schoolboy football is in the middle; I was described as feral by Tameside parents last season 😂

I think they may have had a point 😂😂

few points on this:

lad had a district game abandoned v Leeds after one of their players moved full length of pitch and elbowed a Salford lad in the back of the head, Kid knocked clean out and cocky little coward goading the parents... all caught on camera! said kids dad is a solicitor, and criminal charges being brought

guess who they are lijely to face in the next round of nationals?

little fuckers needs to learn right from wrong at an early age: imagine the potential lives ruined on both sides?

at grassroots level, loads of posts on Faceache recently about knobheads on bikes etc cutting up pitches: North Walkden and Moss Bank in particular being affected. Any other clubs having issues? I know the weather hasnt been great, but stuff like this really holds clubs back- bug fixture pile up incoming.

any other club noticing a lack of 9v9 pitches? its only a couple of year groups it has any sort of impact, but i foresee an issue for us- a couple of years we'll have twice as many teams as we do now, and just not enough sites to accommodate- things need to change. do BBDFL allow indoor fixtures at non competitive age?

Glad I’ve not got kids. Grass roots football seems to be just bellends acting the cunt. Fuck that
