But. Watched it again the other week and theres really not much to it as a film at all. Chat, fight, montage, fight, end. USA bloke wins over the entire Soviet Union population in the process.

Important to remember Rocky lost in the first film and really should never have won in 3 or 4, that said 4 drags you along with all the jingoistic bullshit and ends up being the film you want it to be.
