Was driving past Aldi, next to Amir's gym, last year and the security guard was scuffling with some smack head that had been on the rob, he was a fair unit and looked to be getting the better of the security guard. I pulled over and pushed the fucker off him and generally helped him see him off down the road. Turned around and the glass front of Aldi was just full of spectators, most of which had their phones out. Half expected to be on faceache later in the day but thankfully doesn't appear to be the case. What the fuck is wrong with folk these days? If I was in the shit like that I would hope someone would help me, which is why I did it.
boogs
Another day, another dog based drama for a WW resident. Down the bottom end of Leverhulme this morning where the two rivers meet, throw stick for dog to swim after, all a daily occurrence. She grabs it then starts to swim back and I notice she's getting nowhere. Some fishing line caught in the trees has snagged on the end of the stick. She's a great swimmer so not too worried at first but after a couple of minutes shouting "leave it", it becomes apparent that she ain't letting go of this stick for nowt. She starts to go under with the way she's paddling against the current and its pretty deep there. Panic starts to set it so I chuck my phone down, strip off my top half and have to swim over and snap the line, she fucks off happy as Larry with her stick and I'm left piss wet through, freezing and looking a general tit. Luckily no one was about. Its a good job we love the little buggers.

Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted August 30, 2020 Site Supporter Share Posted August 30, 2020 Twats leaving fishing line, does my head in. Certainly have to be careful with the amount of rain we've had- we have a dog pool near us (a wide part of a stream), when its filled right up and gushing, we don't let them in. boogs
Don't get me wrong fella's, I don't let her in when the rivers are high and running a bit heavy, but it was no worse than normal this morning. I wrote that when I'd just got in, but noticed loads of scratches on me when I got in the shower later, only served to make me realise that she was trying to climb up me to get her head above the water. Lesson learned to not walk on whilst she's still in the water, which I have been guilty of before now.
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted August 31, 2020 Site Supporter Share Posted August 31, 2020 "Pebble beach" - that area you refer to- was a favoured haunt as kids when our grandad came to visit. Still take hounds down there occasionally now.

Missus is sick of having to take people’s pets off them in the car park at work and leave families in bits outdoors. They break your heart. Site Supporter superjohnmcginlay Posted October 10, 2020 Site Supporter Share Posted October 10, 2020 The worse part was saying Goodbye having a cuddle and a paw high five and he then he wouldn’t go back in they had to carry him as he refused to walk. that was the worse part and knowing and I couldn’t be there at the last part. that’s tearing me up most but it’s for the best and the right thing for him. thanks everyone. Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted October 10, 2020 Site Supporter Share Posted October 10, 2020 Sympathies. Horrible experience. Have you got any photos of him? Currently looking up at photos of my old lurcher, and we lost him over 16 years ago. He'll never leave you.
