I feel like Renton in trainspotting this morning.

Proper missing the Saturday football routine.

Missing the lads, the walk to the ground, the beer bought from a bar filled with the hustle and bustle of pre-match chatter. The pisstaking, the knowledge that it’ll be 90 minutes of dross but hoping it might just be the day when we smack someone all over the park. The half time pint of fizzy piss bought on the 35 minute mark, the other 3 pints then getting back my seat for the last half an hour.

Instead, I’m re-doing the sealant round the bath and fucking about on a laptop with a heavy heart and a can of lager.

We need to get back to normal. It’s fucking tudge, this.

Read an interesting piece on Millwall

Less than 3k season ticket holders

Theyll be issuing refunds in the form of credits off next year

And paid out 300k to fans who wanted refunds for last season

Speaking to a few United fans at work. All asked and got a refund for the matches they missed out on from their ST last season. I'm assuming that was a pattern all fans from the PL clubs took if the option was there for them. Whereas the majority of Wanderers ST holders didn't take that option. Daft ain't it.

I'm sure if we were in the PL we would have done the same.

Dont get me wrong Im all for supporting the club though these tricky times, however its still pretty shit reading your bank statement and seeing £43 vanish out of your account for absolutely fuck all in return.

Im still of the opinion football shouldnt be being played at this level without supporters present.

Can't argue with any of that. But I'm actually saving money by not going to any away matches.

£43? Mine was £135 per month! I pay for me and wife, lad occasionally remembers to pay his whack.

No way was this going to be sustainable for the whole season, particularly with MrsD asking me to, “Remind me how much you’re paying for three different codes for the same home game.”

Lad wanted to adjust his DD so it came out of his own account but club said no.

Compounded by the Rochdale dweller amongst my match friends being advised to just buy a £50 kids ticket and then upgrade once we’re allowed back in and that option not being offered to me, all three were cancelled.

Much as I’d love to be able to support the club financially, it ain’t currently an option.

Always knew I spent a fair few quid at the football but it’s only really sunk in how much since all this

I’m all for spending a few quid when there’s a day out or even a weekend out as per Gillingham last season. Definitely looking forwards to a few of them when we eventually get the nod to go back.

I’d rather spend a couple of hundred on an away weekend than a home where it’s usually drive there, couple of pints, watch game, drive home.

Yep love my aways

homes are different just can’t get excited for feels like a chore at times, if the lad wasn’t bothered I doubt I would tbh
