Not really sure what Hickman did so wrong today honestly? I can't remember him losing the ball or giving anything away defensively. Think I noticed his first two crosses were a bit wayward but other than that was a solid performance and was surprised to see him subbed. Not getting that chopping and changing every week so let’s go again Agree with that; just replace Baptiste with a goalie so there is no chance for him to get on the pitch

ErnestTurnip
We'd have lost that a few weeks ago and the first half was ok so there's been some improvement at least. Managed to watch it sober as well and didn't criticise iFollow at all so huge positives from a Turnip household point of view. Mind you, getting wankered now though in the hope of being asleep before the highlights are.on telly.

Spot on. He bombed at Bradford because he was just another front man. Swindon's whole game was revolved around him. Get the ball into the box, decent delivery, first time passes to run onto. we are a million miles from that. Work in progress i get that but where is this delivery going to come from? its the same as this passing from the back we havent got the players to do it not on what we have seen before. The work is going to take a season not 10 or 15 games its looking like. Bigger problem tho i cant see anyone back in ground this season and football without fans is pointless. Also reckon football will be totally changed (and not for the better) by time we get back.

hughmungus
Oh dear, really doesn’t get any better does it. 0-0 against a team that hadn’t trained for 2 weeks has got to be yet another new low point in Evatts career. Why he took off Hickman and Tutte I will never know, Delfonso was absent for much of the game and cant remember much else apart from Santos looking like he could get into United team at the moment sums up the performance. Are we really going to have to settle for season after season of this from now on ?

It’s about knowing exactly where we are at and taking small steps. we’ll be reet.

Said to Radcliffe on FB, I’m thinking this year is a period of bedding in. 2 or 3 crucial changes next summer then go for it next season. We’ve got 20 new players and a new coaching set up. In effect, it’s like a new club

Was massively disappointed with the second half's attacking play though, makes me wonder how Evatt is going to fix it. Is it going to be a "process" that will start to click eventually in this system? Or is he going to have to change our formation/personnel. No shots on target from a team that's supposed to be a "front foot" team is poor. As I've said in a previous post, some nice interplay down the wings but seen little creativity through the middle. We didn’t have a shot Crawford had a good shot on target 1st half, blocked by defender, keeper wouldnt have got near it. And he did hit one about 2 inches wide from a decent free kick, keeper was well beaten. Agreed, 2nd half no shots, considering the quality of opposition the 2nd half was as bad as any half this season.

Much improved elsewhere though. 17 minutes ago, Rizlar said: For me it's either Saravic or Crawford not both playing together Thought similar. Tutt behind looked really solid, always available and used the ball sensibly. Perhaps someone more willing to get into the box? Or keep them together, and have two strikers closer together to play it into. I'm sure IE can see it though and will sort it out.

Site Supporter FrancisFogarty Posted October 10, 2020 Site Supporter Share Posted October 10, 2020 That was better than I expected actually. Santos is improving, and Brockbank Hickman and Crawford had half decent games. A clean sheet helps too. Two poor sides really.
