It may well have angered him etc, but as you say he'll need thicker skin than that. IE said he'd already spoken to him after the Barrow game so the kid was aware of what was needed. It may later transpire that it isn't the best way of motivating the lad, in which case IE will have made a mistake and will himself have to learn.
