It was played 2 days after LFC had beaten Club Brugge in the European Cup final at Wembley!! Can't imagine that happening nowadays! Quick flick on Wiki tells me that the only non-starters in the testimonial from the final were Dalglish & Sourness.... LFC plonked the trophy on the pitch pre-match, remember some BWFC players going out to admire it....

Was it that game that both first-half keepers played second half as outfield players? (And 12 a-side) Didn’t both keepers score

Site Supporter Alf Hartigan Posted November 16, 2020 Site Supporter Share Posted November 16, 2020 Did Peter Thompson play a half for each team, that's my memory, also one the teams was well ahead but let the team with Thompson on second half back into it. Enjoyed it at the time, but a bit of a farce really.
