also if defence did their job at 2-0 we were cruising and second half we go on to win easily. Doyle is class and had another good game. I dont think our problems are up top. Still not creating enough for them.

Were are these overlapping wingbacks Evatt supposedly loves? Someone else said Jones played well but i never saw him beat anyone much less get a cross in - i dont particularly see what he brings but hey ho. I thought Kioso had a decent game always wants the ball and caused them problems. good header of ball as well.

we absolutely bossed it first half should have been much more comfortable but 3 points and we are still improving

He bring defensive nous and positioning. He isn't expected to play as a proper wing-back but our specialist left-wing backs have been so poor that it's a case of needs must. And to be fair, Jones was involved further forward as well.

We had to win this today really and we have. Scunny and Southend coming up. If we emerge from those two with as many wins on the board as losses for the season then we can kick on during December and January and hopefully hit February pushing for the play offs.

I shouldn't talk like this. It's the hope that kills!

Great win even though we didn't play that well, delaney was poor today

Poor compared to the rest of the season, made a couple of errors.  If that had been his first game today I would still keep him in the team, still made some things look easy that others cant do.

Santos was immense & Jones played well too.

Crawford was poor again though, goal aside.

We made hard work of it though but at least we can enjoy our Saturday night.

Better than the corresponding Saturday last year anyway.

Accy?

Yes I loved injury time.  Dire for the "neutral", great for us to watch.  Sarcevic is definitely the Div 2 Kev Nolan - not the most talented, but the on field and off field captain and leader/driving force, scores/attempts similar types of goals and is a winner, enjoys the darks arts.

I agree. Great to see that the result today was put above everything else. They could have pushed for a third, or made a more attacking substitution, or replaced resoluteness for possession, or creating chances at the end for wasting time, or Gilks retaining possession rather than safety up the field, but they all, led by Sarcevic as captain sacrificed all of that to protect the result

probs

But we probably didnt win cos of young william

Plus, this team is settling down and i have higher exoectations

Another point, i want to see us find a suitable left footer to replace jones

No reflection on him, as he and brockbank have been miles better than the so called specialists

Just restricts us big time

Agreed re left footed left back.  We've seen some decent one's against us this season so they do exist at this level.

On another note, their right back Hutton looked really assured, good player.

Delaney has done well just not one of his best today, everybody has a bad day

Being a bit nit picky as we played pretty well overall, however, we dont half choose some bad options when we're attacking!

Given IEs rhetoric I assumed this part of the game would be a given, and now we sorted the other shit out this needs to be next on the list.

That was such an open game we should have created far more clear cut chances than we did, so that is a worry.

I also think Crawford doesn't do enough in that free role he has, far far too wasteful.

At least we're looking up now though!!

Not getting too giddy but we are close to the play offs without ever getting close to what I think we can do.

If we keep pace/gain a few points between now and January, a couple of tweaks and I firmly believe we can push for top 3. It’s a shit league, confidence will get you many points

Another poor team in Scunthorpe tuesday we need to be more ruthless in front of goal

They're all poor in this league, but we can't treat Scunthorpe any different to the others.  In last 8 days won 2 aways and denied a 3rd win in 93rd minute today.  Tiny margins between top and bottom.
