Delaney went forward after about an hour and Crawford filled in, got the ball and sprayed a pass to the right wing. Last couple of games he's also looked like our 2nd best defender. Can't help thinking that having Gilks behind them has calmed everyone's nerves. Regarding the Bolton FM / iFollow commentary, Henshaw does labour a point, but I thought he was spot on today. There was always room ahead of Delaney and Baptiste for them to venture into, and whenever they did it created opportunities. Hope Tutte's injury isn't a bad one. Whilst White had one of his better games and did nothing wrong, Tutte offers so much more. Another win and another clean sheet. E I E I E I O... We had to be very patient to knock it around waiting for a gap to appear. The problem was that a lot of our passing was sloppy. I don't like White as his first instinct is to go backwards and I'd be inclined to give Darcy or Thomasson a go. Tutte will be missed if out for long. Baptiste is playing very well, as of course is Santos. Delaney is steady and I've no issue with him not marauding up the pitch. Doyle/Fonz partnership coming on nicely. The thing that impresses me most is the calmness and relaxed nature of us when we don’t have the ball, we aren’t unnecessarily pressing in safe areas, we aren’t running around like headless chickens, we are keeping our shape, our organisation , every player knows their role. There are going to be times when teams will have spells of possession and try to work through us, when that happens they will try the over the top ball and then it’s clear everyone knows where they need to be, and that’s when we win second balls. As well there will be plenty of times teams will come to us to try and get a big name scalp, sit deep and let us have the ball, when this has happened we are patient, move the ball well, every player is comfortable on the ball. Our fitness has improved massively, which is testament to IE’s team, we will get better this season we will dominate teams we will learn lessons, and keep improving. It’s very very encouraging IE now has to keep the lads grounded, not to let complacency creep in and be ready for bigger and tougher challenges. I’ll join you flask carrying, blanket wearing happy clappers when i can see a genuine long standing improvement in the team and the way they play. Delaney doesn’t have to go marauding up the pitch Traf, just move into the space in front of him to move our whole line up instead of just staying where he is and looking to hump the ball forward. Santos yet again immense at the back and Gilks once again showing how invaluable he has become . It's nice to be able to read the Football League Paper on a Sunday without one eye shut.
