March 2017

They were league games and didn't include a reserve game against U21s.  Anyway lets hope this run doesn't lead into one like under Parky when we scored 1 goal in the next 5, memories of that run still bring me out in a cold sweat.  One game at a time, COYWM.

Henshaw is a cock, it shouldnt even be debated

His obsession with delaney going forward is fucking ridiculous

He got forward once, henshaws creaming himself, and crawford is at left back covering

Yes I noticed that.  Delaney went forward after about an hour and Crawford filled in, got the ball and sprayed a pass to the right wing.  Nothing against Henshaw though at least he's got some passion for the club, not expecting him to be the greatest co-commentator going, who else are we going to get?

Anyone feeling any connection with any of these players yet & feeling like they’re one of “ours?” Santos imo is a beast of a player at this level & I think he’s enjoying himself here. Tuttle I like, same with Sarcy & Doyle, also Delf could become a crowd favourite once we’re let back in.

No. Most our players over the last 5 or 6 years have been stop gaps. In all honesty, I hope a lot of these are too as we’d need better to get to at least the Championship.

I do like Delaney though (I loved Taggart, McIlhenney etc). But I don’t feel like I’ll look back on any of these in 20 years with too much love.

I might be wrong. Still love J.T, Chandler, Came. Do the job, who knows. If this is the start of our fight back, they go down in history.

Grab it or go

don't see anything that he does better than them.

I think he would protect the defence better than Darcy or Isgrove. He won’t get pulled out of position joining the attackers like I think Darcy/Isgrove would. Different types of players for me. And I’d pick him ahead of Comley.

I actually wouldn’t mind seeing Thomason there, a gamble and untried in the league I know.

Let’s hope Tutte isn’t serious and he’s back for a Saturday.

Bit like the trifecta from a generation ago about the referee being a cunt was it @Traf @alibob @noballs might have it wrong.

Whatever has got us going during this good run, keep it up 👏

Haha I remember when someone interrupted it and we got beat, half the board blamed the trifecta half the board blamed the players and the manager

Time for someone else to be given a start ahead of Crawford. Probably Isgrove.

Kudos to Baptiste, two Beckham-esque crosses today. Last couple of games he's also looked like our 2nd best defender. Can't help thinking that having Gilks behind them has calmed everyone's nerves.

Regarding the Bolton FM / iFollow commentary, Henshaw does labour a point, but I thought he was spot on today. There was always room ahead of Delaney and Baptiste for them to venture into, and whenever they did it created opportunities.

Hope Tutte's injury isn't a bad one. Whilst White had one of his better games and did nothing wrong, Tutte offers so much more.

Another win and another clean sheet. E I E I E I O...

Didn’t see the game, but were Southend as bad as the result suggests ?

Oh ffs give it a rest will you, I’m sure you would have loved us to have lost so you could come on here with your clanging chimes of doom. Southend played very well, they just got beaten by a better team.

Southend came with a game plan, 2 banks of five with a mustn't concede approach. It worked for virtually all of the first half. We had to be very patient to knock it around waiting for a gap to appear. The problem was that a lot of our passing was sloppy.

I don't like White as his first instinct is to go backwards and I'd be inclined to give Darcy or Thomasson a go. Tutte will be missed if out for long.

Baptiste is playing very well, as of course is Santos. Delaney is steady and I've no issue with him not marauding up the pitch.

Doyle/Fonz partnership coming on nicely.

All in all, a most satisfactory afternoon. Can't wait for Derby Away next season.

We are creating chances, we are defending well at the back, our shape is brilliant and that’s a testament to work on the training ground.

The thing that impresses me most is the calmness and relaxed nature of us when we don’t have the ball, we aren’t unnecessarily pressing in safe areas, we aren’t running around like headless chickens, we are keeping our shape, our organisation , every player knows their role.

There are going to be times when teams will have spells of possession and try to work through us, when that happens they will try the over the top ball and then it’s clear everyone knows where they need to be, and that’s when we win second balls.

As well there will be plenty of times teams will come to us to try and get a big name scalp, sit deep and let us have the ball, when this has happened we are patient, move the ball well, every player is comfortable on the ball.

Our fitness has improved massively, which is testament to IE’s team, we will get better this season we will dominate teams we will learn lessons, and keep improving. It’s very very encouraging

IE now has to keep the lads grounded, not to let complacency creep in and be ready for bigger and tougher challenges.

Seemed a genuine question based on the 3-0 result to ask about the opposition.

I’ll join you flask carrying, blanket wearing happy clappers when i can see a genuine long standing improvement in the team and the way they play. Far from convinced yet though as we are one injury away from it all falling to bits.

Delaney doesn’t have to go marauding up the pitch Traf, just move into the space in front of him to move our whole line up instead of just staying where he is and looking to hump the ball forward. It’s difficult enough for Jones but he doesn’t get the same support from Delaney that Kioso does from Baps.

You'd moan if you won the lottery. I pity you, I really do. We won (again), we are improving in all areas, we are climbing the lead & you'd be happier if we lost so you can pretend you know best.

You sir are a knobscratch of the highest order!

A steady workman like win for us yesterday , Southend held their lines pretty resolutely in the first half luckily for us the goal came at a great time .

Santos yet again immense at the back and Gilks once  again showing how invaluable he has become .

It's nice to be able to read the Football League Paper on a Sunday without one eye shut.
