Members bolty58
Always interesting at times like this re the comments about the greatest ever etc.. I happen to believe that he was - equally with Pele. My old man used to rave about Hidkeguti, Puskas, Di Stefano etc. but ultimately conceded that Pele and Maradona were in a different higher league. CR7, Messi etc. probably in the same group as Puskas etc. Shame Maradona will mostly be remembered for the ultimate cheat in the biggest showpiece football tournament in the world. To me it’s about as enjoyable as watching a John Aldridge warm up video - both cunts. Aldridge wouldn’t be fit to lace his boots Maradona cheated Ronaldo is a bit of a cunt Henry cheated Zidane had a temper Bur they were all absolute geniuses. If footbalL had a Mount Rushmore Maradona would be on it, cheat or not he was one of the greatest

meanderson93
I never considered him as the greatest, he was before my time, but the points about dragging Napoli and Argentina to the top almost singlehandedly are excellent ones. I think I'd still have C. Ronaldo as the best, the longevity, athleticism and consistency are hard to look past. Maradona up there just behind with Pele, Messi and Zidane though. Reminder to everyone that Jim White is a cunt and had a countdown for us and Bury going bust. The man is a monumental cunt. Anyways, bit of Maradona trivia, he’s the only man in World Cup history to be involved in ten goals in one World Cup. The 86, 5 goals 5 assists, one World Cup Trophy. Messi is far superior in teamplay, creativity and assisting along with his dribbling and set peices imo. Ronaldo is exceptional, unreal. But I think Messi is on another level to anyone. It's all subjective, some may prefer Ronaldo's style over Messi and some may not see Messi as the GOAT because he's yet to win a World Cup, Higuain could have changed some views had he had his finishing boots on in the final vs Germany, but taking away team honours and judging a player purely on ability, I only see Maradona who's close to Messi. Could easily be doing Pele an injustice too not mentioning him. Edited November 26, 2020 by Didledee
Traf
Despicable cheating Argie cuntdwarf, but amazing footballer. Ronaldo & Messi are doing it in teams full of superstars on good pitches in times where tackling is frowned upon. Maradona played on some crap pitches and had lumps kicked out of him whilst dragging Napoli to great things.

Was watching some clips of him yesterday when he was at Napoli and the amount of two footed tackles from behind he had to put up with was a sight to behold. Can only imagine the damage he would have done in today's non-contact game.

Popeye doyle
Maradonna was a tricky putt on the green I recall, a nasty 5 footer. Pele 3 time World Cup winner, won it in 58 but won it twice more with a completely different side in 1970. He was the best all round player there has ever been imo. He pissed me off once though on soccer Saturday when Jeff Stelling asked him about the outcome of the Bolton v Coventry game and he replied, "who cares" at which the panel started chuckling. Take Hunt Off
Best was never tested at top international level ie world cups because NI never qualified so it’s not possible to put him in the same bracket as Maradona , Pele , Zidane simply because he has no record at that level. And he was a scummer .
