Biggish Dave Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 They’ve just won at the form team, we’ve just been walloped by the out of form team. 0-2, Doyle & Isgrove Quote
Rudy Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 If anyone predicts this score I’ll be impressed Quote
marple whites Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 They draw a lot and lost at home to Southend. 1-2 Quote

The last I could remember was Newcastle 10+ years ago In the same time, I thought very quickly of 8 teams who have put 5+ past us in the same time. We've had far too many thrashings in the last decade Quote
Whitesince63 Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 Will be interesting to see what team IE puts out for this. Surely most of the problems are at the back so I expect changes there. It might be worth leaving Santos out and trying Taft and Delaney in a back four with Jones at RB and either giving Gordon a chance as a proper LB, or trying Greenidge there. Put Isgrove on the right wing and Fonz on the left and the shape might just look better all round. Ronan, Sarcevic and Kioso in central roles supporting Doyle to attack through the middle, something we’ve been really poor at. Quote

Guest Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 Sounds mad been beaten 3-6 at home but seen plenty of positives 3-1 Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 My neighbour just came up with a suggestion: Jones into Tutte's position. Might be useful with his defensive experience. Quote

I would drop Crawford and give Isgrove a chance or even Darcy Quote

We've had far too many thrashings in the last decade It has irritated me for decades that we never seem to have the mentality to go for it, to put an inferior opponent (on the day) to the sword. But other teams take great delight in doing it to us. We have had a succession of managers, going back to BSA, that are happy to just win a game. It always seems odd that managers of other teams don't declare at 2 or 3 like we always seem to. Even in the dark 80s we dished out a few thrashings (6-1, 8-1, 7-2 etc). Quote

In the PL years we were never going to hand out huge thrashings to anyone because, generally, the opposition was always too good. Since then we've been too shit to hand out thrashings to anyone. FrancisFogarty Posted December 10, 2020 Posted December 10, 2020 3 - 1 us. PV was last week. I think we'll be back on song this time. Another couple for Doyle and a spare. Quote
hughmungus Posted December 10, 2020 Posted December 10, 2020 The Walsall coaching team will have analysed our strengths and weaknesses and put together a plan to beat us over the last week or so, meanwhile Evatt and his band of brothers spent yesterday and day before doing their online shopping to make sure they had enough snacks for the party. Walsall to win 2-0 Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted December 10, 2020 Posted December 10, 2020 Better by the interviewer that. Didn't ask about potential changes though: given Evatt had identified a big lad up top for them, and our obvious missing of Tutte, be good to have an idea of what he might do to compensate. Quote
