Taffe  Centre half, Santos defensive midfielder.....sorted

I got slated for saying that about moving Santos into a midfield roll after a couple of signings in the window, I honestly think he’d do a great job and not just that, he’d be able to help out defensively when needed.  He shits the live out of other players, it’s a ideal roll for him, just let him run and them.

can he tackle...yes

head a ball yes

cover ground yes

read a game not sure

Worth giving him a go in my opinion..Gives way too many fouls for a centre half

He's at his best in the middle of a back three, because it's where he can be reactive to any danger and help to mop up. If he were played further forward, he would have to be proactive to any midfield threat and try to snuff it out quickly. He just doesn't have that ability.

His passing is good for a centre back, but not nearly quick enough to play in a defensive midfield role under pressure from the opposition, where he would have to be quick enough to pass to a white shirt in tight situations.

I don't mean any offence, but it's a non-starter for me.

Agree , he has the turning circle of an ocean liner. The ball has to be in front of him or at worst in the channel next to him so he can use his strength to either win the header or lever the attacker off the ball .At L2 level that works most of the time.

Scary to think of him as a defensive midfielder , the game would pass him by.

Looks like its not needed....Offer gone to Kieron Lee according to B.E.N Will have to take a lower offer due to the salary cap but i am liking the type of player we are being linked with. We are also after Declan John lwb Swansea player who has played in the english prem with Cardiff and the Scottish with Rangers

I personally can’t see it. I think he struggles enough with the instructions given when playing either side of the central cb. He’d be too much of a liability
