Sure somebody can come up with some more appropriate words for this one, has a great section that would rival Delilah’s laughing bit, and good opportunity for a dig at Rovers too. Satan, where are you??!

There used to be a chant that was led by one bloke with the others following, and in the middle there was exaggerated laughter, no idea where it originated from and I cant remember the words but it was really unique and (at the time) funny.

It was another call and response chant and I  think the first line was

Woooah (note rises in middle then back down again)

WOOOAH (ditto)

can’t remember next line but something like Goopah, goopah, goopah

GOOPAH, GOOPAH GOOPAH

Hhha ha ha ha (exaggerated H on first one)

HHHA HA HA HA

not a clue how it went from there.

Nottingham Forest "City Ground all mist rolling in from the Trent" is pretty impressive just after KO when all four stands are belting it out...they also do a decent rendition to "You lost that loving feeling"

The Baggies do a cracking "The Lord is My Shepherd" but they only do one verse and it sort of peters out.

I know some of you begrudge it, but when Man Utd came to the Reebok they were always loud , probably the loudest visiting English supporters to visit.

My one regret (and I am a season ticket holder of many years), is that I never did a European midweek game at the Reebok. Apparently there were some loud away followings, but midweek fixtures were always difficult when I was working and I sort of decided we were going to be in Europe for some time, so I would wait until we qualified for the Champions League and I could watch us playing Barca', Real Madrid, AC and Inter !!!!! How it all turned sour !

Anyway onto BWFC songs.... "When The Whites go Marching In" could sound impressive in the 70s...I remember us singing it in the snow at Goodison when Whatmore equilised.

"We are the one and only Wanderers" at Boothferry Park on that Friday night was something else...it just never stopped

As for an anthem ...I've always thought Bob Marley's "Get Up, Stand Up" would be pretty impressive , replacing rights with whites... or just leave it as rights...as it could be misinterpreted , although I am sure Bob would smile !!!  If people have problem learining  lyrics "jammin" is really easy ... I'd love a bit of ska or Reggea to be our anthem ... so easy to sing along to and sounds great when loads sing it together ..."One Love" people !

I'm fairly sure it went

Waaayo

Waaaaayo

Waaayo

Waaaayo

Goopa goopa goopa

Goopa goopa goopa

hah ha ha ha.

Hah ha ha ha

Waaayo

It all sounds a bit weird, but if you watch Baba's clip it all makes sense.

Apparently some old Bolton fan was into old American Blues, R+B,Ska etc and introduced it to our repitoire at the time.

It reminds me of being a kid in the Lever end that one.

Happy days, we used to have a fine variety of songs in those days.

Couple of points on this :-

( 1 ) onto BWFC songs.... "When The Whites go Marching In"

It sounded impressive .in the 1970s because it was sung at the correct tempo, for many years now our fans race through it without drawing breath and that has totally ruined a song that was a backdrop to Burnden park in the Ian Greaves era.

Contrast that with Spurs fans still singing the same song today at the correct speed and it still sounds every bit as good as it ever did .

(2) As for an anthem ...I've always thought Bob Marley's "Get Up, Stand Up" would be pretty impressive , replacing rights with whites... or just leave it as rights...as it could be misinterpreted , although I am sure Bob would smile !!!  If people have problem learining  lyrics "jammin" is really easy ... Bob Marley is a good call - Have you checked out Ajax fans singing Bob Marley's  "Three Little Birds" which they adopted relatively recently as their club anthem ?

Spurs sing it far too slow. But you are correct, we fly through it like there's no tomorrow.

The Oh When the Whites usually starts of ok but, like with YNWA Bolton style, soon descent into chanting rather than singing. Maybe there’s something less manly about having the ability to sing tunefully.

Aye

Theres a middle ground

Just where we did it in the 70s

When I started going, "when the whites go marching in" from the Paddocks was, on a few occasions, amazing as the whole structure would resonate with the clapping a way I've never heard since.

Still miffed that my effort:

Giannakopoulos...
He comes from
Th'Acropolis

never took off 😀

On the subject of tempo ...I think it was the correct tempo because the paddocks joined in rather than just the lever end

Both stands as well. On a good day they even sang in the Wing Stand.

Steady on "wing stand" ... Must have been when we were in full flow on the pitch then

Usually the full-to-capacity FACup games; Liverpool, Everton, Arsenal, etc.
