Wrong player was taken off and we completely lost our shape and then squeaky bum time. The Fonz would have been better to swap if Maddison had to come on. Apart from that and the Gilks howler, fantastic performance again. Is it time to see Jensen in net yet? Might miss Gilks authority and organisation at the back but he's made a couple of poor saves from distance now, wouldn't mind seeing our other keeper. @hughmungusyou can admit you were wrong about Evatt now. We were brilliant for so long, didn’t put a foot wrong and were within an inch on a couple of occasions of going 3-0 up which means those changes are ok. Maddison is not the player for this team though, it’s high energy, high press, high desire (and not to mention being able to pass a ball to a white shirt). As soon as you have one gap in that team then it causes big problems in terms of shape and the covering that other players need to do. It was compounded to an extent when Thomason came into Lee's position with Lee himself playing further forward. Seemed to disrupt the midfield solidity, though Lee did well doing it. Lost the initiative, and Maddison was a liability. No confidence in him, seems lazy and a foul by him is always round the corner. No way should we have been struggling at the end, and the changes certainly didn't help this time round. However, we thoroughly deserved the win, and overall the deserve all the credit.
