My favourite isn't on that routine but he used to stick the ball behind his right boot and drag the ball up his calf with his left boot and flick it over his head onto his left instep

He wasn't a bad un

A unique record of the Worthington brothers is that in 1970-71 they became the first trio of brothers to be ever-presents in a Football League season - Bob at Notts County, Dave at Grimsby and Frank at Huddersfield.

Never new that thought there was only one worthington not 3 of them

Privileged to have been there at Blackburn, Old Trafford, Burnden for the Ipswich goal and Maine Road for the right foot volley. (Actually sat right behind it)

It was shit in the 70,s.

Missed the OT one unfortunately... Another favourite Franky performance was Blackpool away on Boxing day with a massive Wanderers following.

That was the one with Bolton all over the ground - more than usual

Great to hear people's recollections of Frank's goals and nice to see mention of that day at Blackpool when we took that huge following. Mention that day to their fans and they still blanch.

A couple of other goals I recall - both in front of a packed Embankment with "lively" away fans present. He scored in his first game for us v Stoke. It was an equaliser in a 1-1 draw. My memory is that it was a tap-in.

Frank also got one of the three second half goals v Leeds in 78/9. Vast numbers of Leeds fans in two of the three section of the Embankment. We were 0-1 down at half time and WIllie Morgan scored straight after half-time with the equaliser. I can't remember if Frank got the second or third but recall him running off towards the Paddock in celebration. Sunny bright, warm day.

According to Rothmans , he scored the 3rd , with Brian Smith getting the 2nd . Although strangely Simon Marlands book as Frank scoring the equaliser.

It was definitely Morgan who got the first. I remember it clearly. Pinball in the box and suddenly he was there with the ball at his feet about 3 yards out. Shame I can't recollect Frank's goal... or indeed Brian Smith's. Both of them no longer with us sadly.

Rothmans are usually spot on with their records.

I was gutted about worthy , even though I was 5 years too late to see him play , you couldn't fail to realise what a huge player he was in the clubs history. I read someone the other day who said because they never watched him and have only viewed limited footage of him , they can't seem to get to connect fully with the loss of him . I remember when I started following us trawling through books , reading all about our history and former players , in fact my first Saturday job wages were spent on Marlands 1989 complete record book , which I read fanatically when I got it.

The thing about Frank was that he came back as an older player with one or two clubs in the 80s and every time the Burnden fans stopped chanting for BWFC and started chanting his name. Phil Neal had a right moan about it at least once. That's how much he was revered. If we'd signed him back in the mid 80s when he was about 35/36 we'd have doubled our gates for the next game or two and it'd have paid for itself.

Regrettably I missed the lot as I had moved to another part of the country .The home victory v Stretford I was on the works Xmas do & got hammered early doors fell asleep in the chair when I got home.

Vaguely remember the result on news at ten having partly woken .Got huge grief off the missus as I was paralytic.Went to bed woke up next morning with a huge hangover but then had the thought flash that we had won 3-0.

Asked the wife if it was true , as I thought it might have been a dream & she gave me the silent treatment.Ran down to the nearest paper shop with a banging head & checked the first paper I bought ......absolutely no mention or result .Had to buy another (Mirror) there was a picture of Frankie on the backpage with the score in big letters , best hangover cure ever.

I did manage a few aways , but can’t remember Frank scoring.

Wouldn't take The Bolton Bible as gospel, been through it many times and there's tons of errors, Rothmans or whatever they're called now are more accurate I think
