Well, he wasn't exactly a saver ... he was also playing for non-elite clubs, 30 years ago. So guess he was never pulling in tne big bucks.

If anyone wants to get her out of it Leicester are now a big club with moneybags income. Not in some huge £millions gesture but a quiet, unboasted but solid way, clearing her debts, clearing her mortgage.

They'd be well within their right to do no such thing, but I'll bet they have players earning enough per week to see her settled.

Regarding Bolton ... he played for 11 league clubs, plus 8 non league.
171 for Huddersfield
210 for Leicester
85 for Bolton
75 for Birmingham

Personally, as I see it, there were 3 clubs REALLY involved with him. But, presumably Birmingham would whinge at that.

We stand out because of THAT goal. Plus he got the European Golden Boot in that season. Otherwise we'd still think well of him, but everyone else would just shrug.

I’d say PFA, he’s paid his dues for nigh on 25 years, Gordon Taylor should get his finger out. In fact Taylor could pay it himself he’s worth millions.

The 62-year-old revealed Gordon Taylor, chief executive of the Professional Footballers' Association, had ‘helped in many ways' and he is set to attend Worthington's funeral today.

“Gordon Taylor has been fantastic and helped in so many ways"

Tbh, its really on Frank

But leicester could change her life...maybe they could pay the creditors still out of pocket from when they went bust, too

Very much this. Future planning, if affordable, is an absolute must. Didn’t Mrs Worthington ever ask if he had anything in place to ensure financial security?
