in what way?

will all be forgotten about start of next season - fans have been moaning about the death of football etc for years

would've be interesting to see what a PL looked like without them, more so to see if Everton could finish higher than 8th

All the supporters trusts have come out and condemned their own clubs, FIFA and UEFA will stick them on their shit list, we’re supposed to be bidding for the 2030 World Cup this won’t help, just give it to another oil state. Like spider said threaten it yeah sure, but sign it and push the button, crikey o’reilly.

So when spurs are getting humped every week in this new comp, will they be chucked out or do the initiate a draft system that allows them to pick up the best players ahead of other teams to balance things up a bit.?

All transfers have to be ratified by FIFA if they don’t recognise the competition under their umbrella then they won’t sign off the transfer, I hope James Milner is ready to play another 10 years.

“it’ll be good for the national team”

ESL; Valueless

Cl; devalued

PL; unchanged? With added bile

Europa League; even more of a joke

FA Cup; bring back endless replays!

League Cup

Football at the top level is in danger of eating itself, this goes through and more folk will seek alternatives, grass roots, non & lower league could benefit, I’ll be pulling all my football subscriptions, I’ll just go to local non games midweek (if BWFC not playing) Only issue is if the lower leagues can survive without the money filtering down.

There’s got to be more to this than meets the eye.

No way have they expected a good response on this.

Its fucking sinister.

And most of these clubs are sat on collosal amounts of debt.

they've been threatening for years

as been said, the new CL format is agreed today

perhaps threatening wasn't enough this time to get their own way, so take it a step further

end of the day, UEFA and FIFA run the show, the super league won't get off the ground, or, it will be full of has beens like the Chinese Super League and MLS

the owners couldn't care less about the supporters trusts

interesting the the president of the new super league is the guy in charge at R Madrid, and one of the glazers is vic president, something like that

Signed off after Club elections in la liga after they said they wouldn’t go ahead with it.

I don’t see it happening, hope FIFA have some bollocks about them

Just deduct them at least 20 points, or the maximum they can be deducted, and tell them next time they will be expelled from the league.

The F.A. need to come out with a strong statement, STAY or FUCK OFF.

You cannot have clubs dictating this, the league is their bread and butter, fans have season tickets for up to 23 games per year.

...and none of them have asked their fans, unless its a sneaky question in a club survey.

This is what happens when countries and corporations buy football club.

JP Morgan are helping finance it. Says on sky the 12 founding clubs will get 3 billion! Still think it wont happen? The Juve chairman had resigned from his UEFA positions.Real Madrid Chairman saying its happening. They have sent legal letters to UEFA & FIFA to stop them preventing it!

They have obviously decided they need to break away from UEFA to pursue this money. Joel Glazer vice chairman that tells you everything. People now waking up to fact that their club is a commodity and its history and traditions count for nothing if you can make billions round the world.

and FIFA cant really complain- world cup in Qatar??

98/99 Citeh were in the 3rd Tier of English football, not that long ago, they (club owners) soon forget.

Daniel Levy is British, you think he'd know better, I reckon there will be a fan backlash.

This has been planned behind the scenes for long time and i bet lawyers for JP Morgan/owners of these clubs think they can take on UEFA/FIFA. The timing has everything to do with this UEFA meeting today. Its a war.

Just being announced all the clubs have resigned from ECA. They are serious.

Whilst I'm uncomfortable standing shoulder to shoulder with the fucking scousers and the mancs, the supporters need to completely turn their backs on their clubs.

Football lives and breathes on the banter and rivalry that has existed for over a century.

They have to vote with their feet and season ticket sales.

Let's see JP Morgan sell a product with near-empty stadiums.

It’ll be interesting

The Glazers fleece their fans by insisting they buy a ticket for every game (I think)

will the hordes be able to resist?

Just imagine in this league of 12 your team with say 6 games to go sat sat in 8th place playing the team in 9th place, neither team can win the league, meh! The last 5 games for each of those clubs are dead rubbers. There may be more money for how high you finish but the fans won’t be arsed about that.

If all the games are midweek, how will that fit in with International games? Will the clubs observe International breaks as happens now. If players are travelling all over the world to play, how can they be fit to play twice a week, most weeks and will it result in second teams being played in the PL, weakening the competition? As far as this extra money is concerned, it won’t come back properly to lower down, as it doesn’t now with the PL but will just inflate wage and transfer fees to even more ridiculous levels. The authorities must stand up against this and if the “big teams” want to go then they should be expelled from ant other forms of football. Can the authorities do this legally though? These clubs must have thought this through and banning them may infringe European Law?

The football league can do what they like, it's their competition, their business.

The big clubs are banking on the league shitting themselves and being left with a second rate product without them.

Which is precisely what will happen. SKY, BT and all the money folk won't want to be selling Burnley vs Watford as their Super Sunday every week.

Any opposition that counts needs to come from the fans.

This is actually a good chance to get our game back, and VAR is first against the wall when we do.

They'll give it the big 'un on forums like this Spider, but if it happens they'll lap it up.

I'll say again, if they are allowed to remain in domestic leagues, just don't play them.

It's pointless anyway given the huge increase in resources these clubs will get, it's bad enough now.
