Traf
From a moral/respect perspective, the organisers of this march should postpone this weekend. But that decision should be theirs to make. Once the Government starts banning marches/assemblies that they don't like, we're on a slippery slope and a further erosion of our rights. Think it boils down to their religion and set of beliefs that simply have no place in our society. Nobody is bothered about foreign folk living on their street. Immigration is fantastic and has made our country and fantastically diverse place. Islam is a different kettle of fish all together. Its that faith that is the problem. We can expect it like clockwork. But there is no evidence to suggest it is more than a minority. And you can’t ban, or rearrange a protest, (like you’ve been pleading the Met to do), if there is no evidence of widespread, serious trouble. If you’ve not got more intel than the Met officers do then you’re just going to have to fck it get down to that statue lad 👍 Unless you try sending them the Blackburn posters? They should just do the right thing and not hold a protest march on remembrance weekend. It really is that easy and simple. You know this though. Deep down you know it would be the right thing to do. It would save all this. It would stop and problem and more reason for division and it would probably help their cause. But no. They will crack on anyway without a single thought about what takes place on that one single weekend a year the British people ask to be left free. One weekend. One. Id be saying the same if it was an LGBTQ or Buddhist Monk march. Nothing to do with trouble causing or intel on extremists. It's about fucking respect. Which it appears nobody has any left. One weekend. One to remember all our men and women who have died for this country and they cant just stay quiet and pay some respect for one weekend. They should be embarrassed and ashamed including yourself for defending it. One weekend thats all our country asks. One.

Site Supporter Spider Posted November 8 Site Supporter Share Posted November 8 Calling it a Hate March is pure Orwell. In 1984 they have a daily 2 Minutes Hate and an annual Hate Week, where “the enemy” vilified and a general orgasm of hatred is encouraged amongst the workers. So for that , she’s a massive cunt and isn’t helping. Regarding the March, just do it the following week. Whoever organised that is also a cunt. that many people all converging on the same city at once, clearly with opposing views, is just a recipe for violence. Which some people on both sides are probably delighted about. Common sense says keep these emotive groups well separated.

It would be the right thing to do. I never said it wouldn't, other than giving you someone else's opinion. Not everyone there is doing it to disrespect Armistice, you've just assumed that they will because many are Muslim. My defence isn't for the protest organisers, I'm defending anyone's right to organise peaceful protest, whenever they want to. That's the country we live in and I won't back a government that pushes these boundaries. It would be a worrying trend if things were being banned without the intelligence. If the intel isn't there that lots of people are looking to cause trouble (which you were saying a while back) then it shouldn't be called off. Time to leave them to it now - they've not done themselves any favours in terms of public support anyway. She knows that the Conservative Party is toast at the next GE, so I suspect that she wants to be sacked from her current role, so that she can, as best as possible, distance herself from the landslide defeat. She'll then make a play for the leadership, once Sunak has been sacked. She'll then promise to take them further "right", which the membership will lap up

I think there's some crossed wires on here, though. They shouldn't be marching this weekend, but they MUST be allowed to do so. We can't go down the route of a government deciding when and where protests take place and what the subject matter is. As for the suggestion by some that it's a pro-terrorism march, that's frankly quite preposterous.

When did 11am on remembrance Sunday suddenly become a whole remembrance weekend where we all have to stay quiet and pay respect? Is there no football on? Are the shops closed? A planned demo on Saturday that doesn't go near the cenotaph is disrespectful? Nah. The real disrespect is the Home Secretary and assorted right wing groups talking up the hatred and trying to create a flash point at what has always planned to be a peaceful march. Like all the others going on around the country and the world. We/you can all do the 2 minutes thing on Sunday at 11am. Nobody's preventing that. You can do it on Saturday the 11th too if that's now a thing.

You can respect armistice day and also have an issue with what is going on in Palestine. I'm not having the likes of the war Christmas lot take over remembrance Sunday. It's also taking place in the city where I live and there's very little fuss here. Funnily enough the Met are pretty good at managing large numbers. It's quite a big place.
