Woah - hold on there bald eagle, don't be dragging me into this.

I've still got my trip to Paris to bore everyone with, plus the RVP god the list is endless.....I don't need Dirty to get his knick knacks in a twist before I do that.

Nope. Not in the least. But I have noted the trend towards militant atheism among the woke. And like everything else to to do with wokery it has a totalitarian feel about it.

Woke and wokery. The militant woke. 😁

Do you think Richard Dawkins is "woke"?

If you swap the word "without" for "for", and the word "anything " for "nothing" it changes the meaning of the statement completely.

I'm not going to discuss politics, and I don't know Jarrah or Riklin, but maybe this is a language thing. Just maybe.

When Tel Aviv airport first opened (it was at Lod first) the sign over the gate said " Israel, You're Welcome to it". Completely diferent meaning to "Welcome to Israel"

Just saying.

That isn't what is happening in that video though

He's not Woke. He can be very dismissive of those with faith that does make me slightly uncomfortable though and to slightly try and echo PHs comments, there is a strand of Atheism that does try and shut down those with a belief that doesn't help the discussion.

And I say this as a life long Atheist, and someone who is very into being woke as in its true intentions before it started getting twisted and weaponised.

As I stated before, and illustrated by Wallace's comments, politicians the world over are concerned about knock on effects elsewhere.

For me, that bird has flown; we saw the pro palestine protests almost immediately the war began.

However it was approached, such a movement would still have occurred.

Of course there are concerns over the legality of the approach, and the ICC will be all over that.

Nevertheless, Wallace didn't call for a ceasefire.

Irrelevant.

You could have addressed what I said instead of asking that. The fact that you didn't speaks volumes.

Well, to be fair, you could have made your point without the need for the misrepresentation of what being Woke is, and the fact that there is a balance.

Everyone would have got on board with that, and if you have a faith no one will be horrible because of that.

Who are these "woke" people who are also "Militant atheists" then? Can you give any examples?

Ricky Gervais is very public about being an atheist and the Archbishop of Canterbury is often accused of wokery. Not sure it works the other way round.

Religion is a belief and there are thousands of examples of people who based on their religion live good and decent lives. The is when if you choose not to believe or believe if something slightly different you become the 'enemy' usually driven by very strange interpretations of the religions teaching.

Another reason why Gervais should have been put to pasture after that second series of scarine shite he did.

He is aggressive in his Atheism, basically saying if you believe in anything you are a fool.

He misses so many complexities of what it is to be self aware, but yet have so little idea about the vastness.

I totally agree with the ideas; just don't like the arrogance or the dismissive attitude to faith that it breads.

Think about the hymns you've sung, the joy of seeing a place of faith in a shitty community, a call to pray over the Bosphorus or hearing a choral choir on Christmas Morning or at Epiphany.

Small moments of beauty.

Save me from a totally secular world. As humans we need faith, in its many beautiful forms.
