We just had 12 F-22's (the absolute pinnacle of air to air fighters) land here on a stop over before going on to the Gulf to prepare for thus expected Iranian onslaught.

Where have they come from?

Presumably required air-air refuelling along the way.

I also wonder if they're expecting manned aircraft from Iran too.

The previous attack used drones and missiles that were easily dealt with by a coalition using other aircraft and air-air missiles and surface-air systems.

Flying f22s all the way over seems like a bit of overkill, so maybe they're expecting an additional level.

They came from Alaska, with 7 refuelling planes in tow! Came in huge convoy and passed over not far from here but I was in the bloody gym.

Probably a few reasons for it, F-22 isn't a million miles away from retirement now and probably needs to earn its corn other than shooting balloons down (side point for the conspiracy thread, why have no videos been released of those shootdowns, what are they hiding? 👽)

But also a lot of the F-15 and F-16 squadrons have been rotated in and out of there and other places a lot recently so they're probably knackered. Does make you think what are they expecting thats different from last time though, and why they'd need the potential stealth capability in the area.

Storm Warrior now and Cobra Warrior in a few weeks will hopefully bring a lot of noise round here. Last CW some Typhoons were unusually using the gliding club near here at Syerston as a close air support training target, it was ace and seriously loud!

I forgot about SW and it was very noisy on Monday morning... I assumed the Americans were out beating up Cottesmore which is local to me... they often have exercises revving up anti aircraft gunners... twin tails (I assume to be F18s) approach low level from all directions.
