Meanwhile in Israel

This is exactly what Hamas and every terrorist organisation want to achieve. Drive the fuckers into the sea.

Indeed, I said a few pages back. The more Palestinians that are killed, the better as far as Hamas are concerned. Hamas would be absolutely delighted if a small tactical nuke was dropped on Gaza, and it basically melted every single person there. They don't give a fuck about the people, it's about "the cause"  -  as the leaders of Hamas happily sit in Qatar, getting pissed and snorting cocaine off hookers tits

This incident shows just how fucked the world is. Too many people happy to blame Israel and then too many people happy to blame Hamas. Too many people saying lefties support Hamas/Palestine and too many people saying righties (??) support Israel.

People seem more concerned that their opinion from a week ago is proved correct and others look daft than thinking about the thousands (with and without foreskins) being killed or fucked over by this war.

People can think they are right but let's be honest none of us will really ever know who did what. The say truth is the first victim in war ( or summat like that) and this just highlights it

I have idea who fired whatever it was that hit the hospital but rather than being something that make people think 'what the fuck are we doing here?' It is being used as a spring board to increase the hatred and rhetoric.

It is fucking tragic.

Political discourse, with the assistance of social media, is now completely binary.

No middle ground, no rational analysis - seemingly every person's opinion on everything global is all about their entrenched belief being "right".

It's exhausting even from my Western ivory tower of safety. Meanwhile in this conflict, there are thousands dying, hundreds of thousands physically destitute, and millions in fear for their lives - no matter what side of the fence they live on, or what scripture they read.

But nah, forget the complete breakdown in the human condition caused by a few old men with massive weapons and tiny peckers, it's all about Team X or Team Y being to "blame" while the other is absolved of guilt.

Which is why this thread is pointless. Its one thing wittering on about domestic political policy positions. This has become calcified into postions of futility without the much need context.

I find it surprising now most reasonable people have accepted the initial narrative of cause was wrong, that questioning the magnitude hasn't caught up either. The photos shared are of a burnt out car park with more or less un-disturbed buildings surrounded.

Hard to see how 500 people die from that and I certainly hope that figure was as made up as the initial blame attribution.

So why bomb a car park?

Did they aim or miss?

Or did they make it harder for people to leave by taking out their car?

A misfiring Hamas rocket happened to fall there apparently - the unused fuel caused a very large fireball which was immediately picked up on, but as can be seen from the photos there's plenty of fire damage and very little rocket damage (no crater, buildings largely untouched). As plenty of other places in Gaza can attest, Israeli rockets cause an awful lot more damage.

Never ones to waste a cock up, Hamas immediately announced it was an Israeli rocket which had killed 500 people, and the BBC immediately published this as fact.

Did other media outlets also publish it?

To be fair, they said it was an Israeli airstrike according to Palestinian officials. However, I think they (along with Sky who reported it similarly) should have said there was an explosion and it was too early to ascertain the cause and number of casualties.

Yes. Many others don't have the same reputation as the BBC, or even follow the BBC in these matters.

Pretty straightforwardly concerning the state broadcaster published terrorist claims as facts last night, and published the Israeli evidence based rebuttal today as 'unverified'.

People use various media sources to get their news these days. Be it BBC, Sky or whoever

You signalled out the BBC for direct criticism

Reputation or otherwise, for balance can you say which other news organisations followed the same storey?

And criticise them

Yep that's definitely what the discussion is about, thanks for keeping up on topic.

I missed the news last night, so what did they say? What are they saying that others aren't?

What facts have they said that you don't agree with?

Was it presented as facts or just how you interpreted it?

Almost immediately after the explosion at the hospital, the BBC had a reporter on saying that the type of explosion suggested this was almost certainly an Israeli missile attack. They didn’t say it definitely was Israel but certainly gave that impression. At the same time Sky were saying that it was too early to say.

What news are you watching that seconds from a bomb attack provides you with news?

Given it was immediately after
