So long as he keeps proving armchair managers wrong that will continue. If he leave a fan favourite on the bench and we crash out he will get dogs abuse. However, you'll probably know this but dave down the pub won't... this is part of a master plan going back 10 years or so when the FA overhauled the England set up top to bottom so that they are all playing the same style of play and there's clear succession from the age groups. Think it was Greg Dyke who wanted us to win something by 2022. Remember reading about it thinking there's fuck all chance... Yet here we are. They have set up top to bottom you’re right, scouts watching plays in the NFL, St. George’s park , money for the youth , involving young kidsto watch England with free tickets , so they buy into the pride of England Greg Dyke will have his critics but the structure he has put in place is incredible, and it will get better and better

Drag your tele out. Get a fire pit on the go too. It's ace. I fell asleep midway through Italy last Saturday but woke up (was woken up by the Mrs raging) just in time for extra time! 🤣

The players coming through now are a result of the German overhaul Edited June 30, 2021 by jmjhb

The players coming through now are a result of the German overhaul I don't think you need to go from youth to senior through all the age groups to prove its worth. What we struggled with was a clear gap with youths earning caps at every age group up to u21 then never making the jump to senior squad because too many 'big name' players were playing in the prem that earned their cap whether they fit the style of play (there wasn't one) or not. It's fucking ace. Even if we play like parkie anti football for 70 mins... 🤣

Granted national set up has improved but it ain't whole picture. Reckon well fall short in final but said next three tournaments well win one with quality coming through

Site Supporter Alf Hartigan Posted July 6, 2021 Site Supporter Share Posted July 6, 2021 We'll not steamroller Denmark like Ukraine, and it's not as big a game as Croatia semi in 2018. Euros don't compare to World Cups, but I will celebrate as if Bolton won the League 1 title if we win it.

The Euros don’t carry the same prestige obvs, but considering European teams have won the last 4 world cups, it proves that if f you can win the Euros these days a World cup win isn’t out of reach. I got the England buzz back for a few years over the last few years. Right now, I’m absolutely determined to make sure I’m at AFC Wimbledon and excited for taking a couple of days off work in October for an overnighter in Plymouth. Johnnyrotten
Supporting England is completely different emotionally to BWFC. This is "fun", not unlike getting behind the England cricket team or the GB Olypmic athletes. Great while its on, and once its finished, its over, forgotten about within days by most of us. BWFC is a way of life, there are consequences to failure. If we had lost a few games in March, we'd have been looking at going out of the league, the club's very existence can be in doubt with a few bad years. No such worries for England, its all fun, no real failure, like being the fan of a top 8 club. What is great about England success is being able to share it with family, friends, neighbours, work colleagues that you just can't do with club football, that makes it special in a different way.
