Surely the EFL must be at the point of issuing a final deadline and withdrawing the golden share?

Even if they can prove they've got the funding to cover the next 2 years and I dont see how, they currently have just 5 contracted players and the fixtures are out Thursday.  I wouldn't wish it on them but they do seem to be getting greater leeway than us or Bury got.

Understandable view. However the fixtures close to out & fixtures close to starting are quite different matters.

The EFL though have finally lost some of their patience, & pointing out that whoever bids needs to be checked & they can't hide behind anonymity seems nbt (not before time).

The difference between them now & us then was that bidders do seem to be available.  We hoicked ourself around the World & got no takers.

The difference between them and Bury perhaps, who had no serious bidders. We were issued a final warning while FV were in talks with the administrators.

Agree re the fixtures though.  Ours and Burys were out at the time and the league season had kicked off before they were expelled.  Suggests Derby may have a few more weeks yet before things become critical.

So, is the situation such that a club can be bought without EFL approval if the bidder wishes to remain anonymous

I doubt they would, but could the EFL still boot a club out once purchased if the owner didn't pass a fit and proper test (in theory of course, everyone passes it)

Seems odd that the bidder and admins don't want to let the EFL know who they are

They should be allowed to remain private but still be looked into by the EFL before completing a deal

It can't be, can it, really.

I get that privacy may be wanted  but not from the licencee ... the EFL ... surely, at the actual final stages. Formal procedings could be entered into with the legal proviso that the names aren't divulged.

The Administrators have played a very odd game throughout all this.

The EFL have sent in Trevor Birch to oversee things, now the Yank has finally pulled out, but he's being ignored.

The EFL also own a golden share in each club so not sure how they can be ignored

Also have to ask why would a buyer want the EFL excluded ?

In terms of starting the season we were allowed to as we had a credible funding plan in place. Bury did not hence did not play any games. Assume same applies to Derby so makes it even stranger to think it is a good idea to exclude the EFL.

Surely the anonymity only applies up to the point where the sale is agreed and funds are shown / provided.

the buyer would then need to be revealed in order for the EFL to conduct their fit and proper checks

why any / all of the prospective buyers don’t want the EFL to know who they are at this moment in time seems pointless. Reckon it’s a ploy by the administrator

The EFL wanted to be involved to save time. Have a look at the prospective owners and say yeah they will pass the test and we are confident of funding.

Now they will have to wait until bid accepted by admins and will then be under pressure to read it through and then grant approval.

Derby papers now saying virtually impossible to get takeover sorted before season starts. Only takes EFL to lose patience and in shit. Plus need £1.6 million to cover this months wages or 3 point deduction held over from 2020. Anyway fuck em Mel Morris caused this cheating fecker.

They can stay in admin until next April apparently. As long as a) one of the prospective buyers props it up with the money needed whilst sale goes through (kirchner paid the last £1.6m) or b) admins fund it and add those fees on at the end

either way they’ve got a while yet. Too many interested parties waiting for it to hit rock bottom for them not to be saved

they will prob get a -15 though for not meeting the pennies in the pound to creditors in that situation

Hope they get sorted. A delay will see them finish well below us. That works.

A few weeks playing 16 and 17 year olds please. They may even get a point against Coventry; we’ll give them the start we got.

Tranmere fans celebrating the 5-0 like they’d beaten Real Madrid will long live with me. Similar to 1991.

I hope we beat em but honestly don’t want to play against their kids like we had too. Some teams in the division really embarrassed themselves over that.

He did pay last month's, last week, apparently.

Those players are largely now gone/leaving. They have, reports vary, 5 to 8 adult professionals & 2 of them want to clear off.

So next month's outstanding wages are likely to be a fair bit lower 😅.

Despite "£10k pw for Barkhuisen" noises, unless all debts are completely paid off they'll be under all sorts of constraints and embargoes.

Kids are inevitable for a short while. 5 contracted players yet offering Barkhuizen £10k a week then they eventually get sorted 👀

but we have a pretty stadium and will win the league by 100 points
