Seriously?  Toll gate had three in the queue as we were driving up. We'd parked in town centre and had a half hour walk back.

We parted in the away supporters car park which behind the smaller stand, took a good while to get out and there, then  coming off the car park was slow going, by the time we hit the main road that runs past the stadium it was gridlocked (caused by cars parked on double yellows outside a takeaway).

Toll bridge was backed up a fair bit, reckon you must have just hit the sweet spot before the rush. One of those things. Driving behind a brand new massive tipper truck on the way back, damn that thing could shift, never seen a truck driver drive as quickly, overtaking a van on those country lanes!

MaJestic last night, that lad.

What a great night.

Made even better by meeting the mini bus of Mackems at the petrol station on the way back.

I thought they were going to lynch me when I asked them how they'd got on ( I knew of course). 😁

He’s class Ste I love watching him play, he’s a 8/10 every week. Proper wanderer

Me and the Mrs saw him and Doyle car sharing the other week I gave the thumbs up,

Last seen at the caravan site near Moses Gate.

Great performance and a much needed win. Its still small margins at the moment though. On 75 mins they really should have scored. And then for our goal - why their keeper hasn't slammed the ball into the stand????... a clear mistake that thankfully got punished.

Onwards and upwards.

Been mulling things over, what was that header that Doyle did on their 6 yard line at the beginning of the second half? Looked like a cracking defensive clearance! Ball must have had more on it than expected, am I imagining it?

The first win of any league season always feels significant but this feels extra special. If you think about it we've had shocking starts to just about every season over the last decade other than the promotion season under Parkinson and what we all knew was a brief false dawn of three games unbeaten at the start of Parky's second championship season (starting with that win at WBA).

That constant flow of 0-1 away wins last year was nerve-shredding but the mark of a side with a real work ethic as a foundation to all other skills. Those wins changed the losing culture at the club. To chalk up another of them against the side who finished 5th last year at this higher level is very eye-catching.

Hopefully we don't get an "After the Lord Mayor's show" performance against Oxford on Saturday. I don't think IE will allow that to happen.

... and one other quick thing, three of last night's back four (Gordon, Santos, Jones) were from that batch of much maligned Summer 2020 signings. Who'd have thought it after all we went through in the first half of last season.

We parked by the roadside just by a massive graveyard about 10 mins walk from the ground , very good for getting away.

Did not realise tequila was involved in the goal 3 times, initial run that hurried keeper , winning ball back and then the lay off.

I have never been anti Parky but...the fact we were pressing the ball in the 77th minute of an away game would never have happened under him if we not already losing. It is a real testament to how far we have come to see that.

It was a very good away performance. First half we were not too adventurous but never looked under sustained pressure. Second half Dapo came in off the wing and caused them all types of problems. Got to assume that was a change from Evatt so top drawer.

Some performance that, away at last year’s play off finalists and looked comfortable throughout.

First half I thought we were pretty average, off the ball we were doing the right things, but we were sloppy on the ball and so invited too much unnecessary pressure.

Second half though was as good as I’ve seen us play, live, for years and years. Everyone knew their job, passing was more crisp, we hunted in packs and Lincoln couldn’t live with it. There was a good 15 minute spell where it was sustained pressure and when Lincoln did get the ball we turned it over within seconds and built again.

Everyone had a good game but I would say MJ was the standout for me (as others have pointed out) - he is very very good and seems to fit perfectly with Evatt’s style of play. I think the biggest compliment for him is that he is now playing as the sole DM in that midfield 3, with Sheehan higher up and closer to Sarce - whereas last year Lee would play alongside him and share the duties.

No surprise that Jones looked a million times better when Baka went off for Isgrove either. Baka is class and will be a big player for us this year, but just at the moment he leaves Jones very exposed down that side, whereas Isgrove’s workrate going backwards worked far better.

It was class to be in an away end again, class to celebrate a late winning goal in an away end and class to see the players experiencing a Bolton away following after a win at the end.

The first half and most of the second seemed to be we attack,  they put a foot in,  take the ball and counter,  we put the foot in, take the ball and counter. As had been said, their goalie could (should) have hit row Z but didn't. We capitalised in their mistake where they couldn't on ours.

any mither after the game?  Police were running around like headless chickens

One police woman ran round the corner we were walking round and actually asked a woman if she'd seen any fighting. They had no clue where to be and when.

Great afternoon by the marina - met sarc and Doyle, few beers and a meal and then a really good away performance.  They were decent and hard to break down.

constantly kept pushing and probing, attacking all the way to the end.  Didn’t get flustered on the ball defending either.

brilliant scenes when we scored.

perfect day.
