They're in the final stretches of a promotion run a year after it looked like they'd go bust. That's a joke attendance. In the same position we'd double that.

Let's all laugh at Wigan.

And not forgetting the official attendance isn't the number of people there.  Probably nearer 8,000 when the non attending S/T holders are factored in for a night match, 3 days after a big derby.  I agree we'd expect 16k minimum home fans in the same situation, the excitement would have been palpable especially with only 2 more home games left.

The day i compare us with wigan will be a cold day in hell

Just ignore the shit bastards

If you do actually care about em, the only number that really matters is league position and fortunately, theyre prob going up, while we dont

Means we can pass em next may

Wigan?
I disliked them last week, as we were playing them that week.

This week, they're back to being an irrelevance.

Everyone's different.  I started disliking Wigan when I went to school and college there in the 80s and when Steve Johnson scored the winning goal at Burnden in about 84 and then they got to Wembley against Brentford and I was so jealous.  Then in the Prem they started getting better than us for a while, and beat us in that relegation 6 pointer under Megson.  And they started really hating us so I wanted them to be worse than us as a minimum.  Its all pointless stuff really, just as some on here want Man U to fail more than Liverpool or Man City.  No real logic, just sporting nonsense that makes routine games not involving us more interesting.

the actual people through the turnstiles for the game was 5500 inc away fans.  won't say the source but absolutely true

Seem crazy figures, that would mean 3600 with tickets did not bother, that is a massive % given you are saying only about 5k home fans on the night.
For game to go top of the league why would so many ticket holders just not bother ? Do they do really cheap kids tickets or summat ?

thought tranmere only had about 6k on - but wembley way was fun after

And before. Was the pub called The Torch or similar?

Everyone had given up queuing at the bar and instead went to a local off licence for cases at a time.

You know that sound a full beer can makes as it goes through a passing Tranmere coach?

Kind of a “TSSSCH!”

And I don’t think the thrower even considered it a waste of ale!

There weren't many pubs open much to my Dads disdain. I remember the panic trying to find one more than the actual game :D

Went to the Hilton hotel for beers/soft drinks (me) which was the same from Torquay on.

That Helen Chamberlain did a shoot for a lad's mag when she was moderately attractive and didn't look like Zelda from Terrahawks. She had the Torquay crest tattooed on her arse. I bet she swallowed more Torquay players' jizz back then than Marc Almond did with sailors.

Yeh she was a bit of a ‘sort’ back in the day was HC - that accent scraped my brain though.

Your mate Tim definitely rattled her

Apologies for the delay. Life's been somewhat hectic.

PREMATCH

Quote

I'd take a point, think that would be ok.

Quote

I think we sail home by 2 or 3 in this one. It won't seal anything but it will put us well on the way !

Quote

I'll go 3-1 Wednesday, Berahino 2 and Gregory late on to put it to bed.UTO.

Quote

We have to win at least 2 of our away games out of 4 , Bolton are missing 4 key players probably there best 4 players,  on top of that Ian evett says they have other injuries/knocks and covid (illness) he didn't look too happy .

Quote

We’ll lay down a marker today and win easily.

Quote

Wednesday win today against a weakened Bolton side, with little to play for this season.

Quote

0-3 wednesday, clean sheet, convincing win, marching to the playoffs

Quote

Bolton have some dangerous forwards who will probably find their shooting boots today, as usually happens against us.  So if we win it will be 2-3,  but I’ll predict a 2-0 defeat to try and jinx myself.  UTO

Quote

Really worried about Kachunga coming back to haunt us.

Quote

Even with the injuries they still have some decent players . Dion Charles a decent striker and bodvarsson / bakayogo can be handfuls on their days .

kachunga against old club .

Quote

I hate playing away to Bolton, almost as much as I hate away games to Plymouth, Derby, and a few others... at most we come away with a draw; but I really hope we can get a win

Quote

The pitch looks good, the sun is shining, it's going to be a cracker, I've got that tingling feeling again.

Quote

Kachunga starting for the opposites. One of the most hopeless footballers I’ve ever seen play for us — and there have been a lot to choose from.

DURING

Quote

How's that not a kit clash! Better playing in the home strip! Come on Wednesday!

Quote

Good to see a new corner routine. Managed to be both offside and straight out of play. Genius.

Quote

HTF can you be offside from a corner

Quote

come on Wednesday get clinical & they'll fall.

Quote

Bolton are on the beach here - big chance to improve away form table

Quote

Officials giving us a few decisions today, which is nice of them

Quote

loving this ref at mo. He is being quite fair for once

Quote

What a chance! Good headed NML from a great free kick. 19 year old keeper FFS! Reactions like a cat!

Quote

Should be 3-0 up

Quote

Can we have this ref every week?

Quote

Their fans are getting reyt mardy.

Quote

Loving the ref, makes a pleasant change.

Quote

Johnson’s got their right back on toast

Quote

The ref has booked two of their players and neither were even fouls imo.

Quote

No idea why they're kicking off about the ref, they've all been fouls so far

Quote

Loving this ref😂

Quote

Got a feeling it might be one of those games… again…

Quote

Big let off, he should’ve buried that

Quote

yikes should have been 1-0 to them there

Quote

Should have scored there - free header

Quote

Bolton should probably have scored that one! Shows why we have to put one of our chances away…

Quote

This has got 1-0 to Bolton written all over it... We can't keep squandering so many good opportunities and get away with it - it's the Wednesday way...

Quote

I',m going to concentrate on the positives from that half.

We were by far the better team

Created lots of good chances

We didn't concede from the free kick (header) at the end

Ref has been superb by L1 standards

Quote

Bolton are no mugs, but on the balance of play think we have had the better of chances created.

More work to do if we want to win this one. Need to get on the ball more and press higher up the pitch.

Quote

They’ve been better than us this half, really hope we don’t pay the price for not taking our chances again

Quote

Was Berahino  hit with som

Quote

ething thrown from our fans?

Quote

Bolton commentators on iFollow have no clue at all…Bolton the better team and should still win this 😂😂😂

Was a foul and goal shouldn’t stand…

Quote

Kachunga is a weapon isn’t he

Quote

Kachunga. Absolute donkey

Quote

Kachunga is off here

Quote

red card surely for the poo Kachoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooonga

Quote

Kachunga off surely

Quote

Ref bottled it - although Ref has had a good game here

Quote

If Hunt goes down like he’s been shot, Kachunga gets sent off there

*lots of fuck sake posts*

Quote

Bolton also last minute scorers on a regular basis.

Quote

How the fk did we not manage this better?

Quote

That is just not good enough.

Business end of the season and they f*ck it up again.

Quote

Bolton must feel like theyve won the World cup

Quote

Nobody likes to see it… but if Hunt feigns injury to get Kachunga sent off a minute before they score, maybe things would’ve been different

Quote

That is BS. So Kachunga headbutts Hunt and doesn’t get sent off. Then he wins a corner and they score. Shocking defending but it’s still a sack of poo !!

Quote

I ******** hate it when we're trying to fizz about running the clock down with 15 mins to go ... then we're rushing around like blue ar*ed flies as soon as they equalise.

Go for the 2nd to kill em off ffs

Quote

I've got an uncontrollable urge to windmill at myself and die from my injuries.

These f*cking lobbers do my head in.

Quote

Ffs Bolton were poo sat in away end and having to suffer that

Quote

I can’t stand footballers flinging themselves to the ground like they’ve just taken a punch from Mike Tyson… but Kachunga gets a red if Hunt makes more of a meal of that

POST

Quote

Dreadful result. Played well and deserved 3 points. Bugger

Quote

Tbf the ref gave us many decisions today. Our goal looked questionable too. Having said that some of those chances missed eg Bazza and NML were appalling.

Quote

Kachunga had his arms wrapped around Luongo as the cross came in. Probably a penalty so good advantage played by the ref.

Quote

Yet again some over reactions. Wednesday played well today and whilst our goal could have been disallowed, they got very lucky with their equaliser, it was bad luck rather than poor defending.

Quote

But we battered them all game and excellent chances were missed by 4 or 5 players. Game should have been well over before we conceded.

Remember battering Bolton under Carlos too - and we still drew!
