Alan Partridge last night at the 02, some parts were genius, others dragged a little but overall very good.

That was my view on it also . Did the Lynn segments work for you ?

Yeah Yeah Yeahs at the Apollo tonight

There's a new single out, and an album out in September, but hope it'll just be all the hits and not loads of new stuff no one has heard before

That latest one is a mix bag, few before it are just old stuff

Their new single sounds very much like something Wolf Alice would've done on their last album

Lenny Henry complaining that the Glastonbury crowd lacks black faces .

He really is losing the plot , bandwagon jumping again.

Of all the festivals,  Glastonbury is the most diverse one .

From Ozric Tentacles,  via Dolly Parton to Michael Ebenezer Kwadjo Omari Owuo Jr. Headlining stages

And tickets are sold in a ballot .

Left me scratching my head too that. ANYBODY in the world can register to try for a ticket and then it's just pot luck if you get through to the booking page or not.

Probably because Glasto is shit.

My friend was saying at Slam Dunk how she noticed way more fellow none white people than when she started going to gigs and festivals 20 odd years ago.

Her first festival she said as far a black women went there was just her and Skin from Skunk Anansie.

I think the issue is that its diverse music, but its overhwelmingly attended by white, middle class people. Whereas some festivals say LoveBox have a much more diverse audience.

He's saying, why is that? What is it that doesn't massively connect to a more diverse, urban audience and it being the biggest festival in the UK then its a valid question.

Its the same that Download have a much older audience based than the majority of UK festivals, its something the promoters are very aware of and take huge steps to address.

Glastonbury sells out very quickly but it is also something that I know SEE tickets have worked on in terms of their data for their Glastonbury sales.

Fair enough and they are good points but surely it's a question that can never be answered?

It can but there are a few things like authenticity, channels, coverage that newd to be looled at etc

Basically it's just not seen as something that an urban black audience would want to go to, and they get their music elsewhere, it's also seen as a bit mainstream, comes from a guitar heritage, bit hippyish - or it's just for those acts that have crossed over.

Plus there is the camping etc you don't get many south london black kids going on camping holidays in Wales, so all that feels a little removed from their experience, in a way thats its not really for them.

There's a load of things going on and it's good we try and look at why if we celebrate something as inclusive and diverse then it probably should be.

What does it matter if download is an older audience?

Well they just had KISS and Iron Maiden headlining so not sure their steps have been that huge

Because like anything that needs to make money, you need to keep bringing through new audiences.

You can keep the older audience but it has to stay at a certain level, the older and older it gets the more it loses money.

But metal fans are super brand loyal. They will buy for logos with different band members, other popular music don't as much.
