I didn't realise not liking a band makes you a cock - be a dull world (and forum) if we all agreed and liked the same thing.

Some folk like arguing/discussing if Evatt is the man for us or what formation we should play.

I love chatting crap about music. This afternoon had a good long discussion about how I didn't get Marillion to a group of mates who love them and are off to see a tribute band in Faversham. To be fair the best gag birthday pressie they gave me once was a year long subscription to the Marillion fan club. Every month had to get their newsletters and magazine 😁

Don’t want to get involved in any argument but just a point about ‘Northern Soul’. When me and Bolty were young, it was just Soul. Uptempo, rare, mid sixties Soul circulating around the clubs in the north but not really a genre in itself. Some record shop guy in London came up with the name. It was great to be part of that era though.

I’m not sensitive about it liking Shed Seven- yeah I belted out Chasing Rainbows- i’ll probably will do again next summer; when I was at my lowest ebb that song kind of saved me… again that’s not the point. The point is, someone going to a gig isn’t going to watch a band they think they are shit- your comments offering condolences makes you sound like a smarmy cunt. Let people enjoy themselves… don’t offer LPs from your nanas wardrobe

Glad to hear it got you through some tough times  I still think you're being a wee bit oversensitive about someone taking the piss out of a pop group, as I said earlier it was said in ascerbic jest. Plenty folk take the piss out of my nose flute fiddle nonsense, which is fair enough and their perogative - most bands/groups are laughable from certain angles and not everyone likes the same music.

I've seen The Lilacs, The Stanley's and The Lathums all as support acts this last month. All 3 or em went on about it and in the case of The Stanley's, after every feckin song "We are the Stanley's and we're from Wigan".  Are they looking for sympathy applause? The Lathums last night were very good tbf.
