Can't see this happening for security reasons. It would also dilute the crowd around the rest of the stadium, which already looks sparse for loads of games Quote
Casino Posted March 20, 2024 Posted March 20, 2024 i dont want to stand up at home games i like my seat theres nowhere else available if they decided to change my bit more after the event bollocks Quote
Big E Posted March 20, 2024 Posted March 20, 2024 We had to move under sweaty Ken. You move on. Don’t hold the club back because you are a grumpy old man Quote

They'll just install these barrier things. Quote
Cheese Posted March 20, 2024 Posted March 20, 2024 Back couple of rows in North Upper don't sit down anyway, and South East corner is effectively a standing area already. Quote
L/H White Posted March 20, 2024 Posted March 20, 2024 (edited) use all south lower, give people option to move and away fans only get south upper be a right stand if it houses both get lofty in there head to toe in stone island absolute carnage outside at full time Edited March 20, 2024 by L/H White Quote

Casino Posted March 20, 2024 Posted March 20, 2024 thinking it further, itll be north lower and nobheads will be told no standing esl, you need to move to 120 yards from the away fans Quote

I’ve still 6 years left on my free season ticket. Sharon agreed to honour the deal Quote

Stig Posted March 20, 2024 Posted March 20, 2024 I much prefer standing, it's an all round better experience. But as others have said the place to do it would be crazy corner and a few blocks of the south stand to create a really good atmosphere. Will annoy too many people being behind the goal in the North, but judging by the release it sounds like that's where it will be. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted March 20, 2024 Posted March 20, 2024 Upon reflection, practically, it has to be behind a goal, therefore North stand, for the reasons stated; ensuring folk in seats can see. Maybe the lower tier initially. Quote

Maybe the lower tier initially. We were in safe standing at Derby, higher up than the corner flag, between their end and their side. It can go round the corner if you want, that might work from crazy corner to SSL. Quote
Leyther_Matt Posted March 20, 2024 Posted March 20, 2024 The effect on the other blocks in ESL would be no different to what it is now, it would just make crazy corner the official standing area rather than the unofficial status it has had for 26 and a half years Quote

Upper or lower is a separate consideration. Quote
Traf Posted March 20, 2024 Posted March 20, 2024 I can stand all game every game, one of the Row Z perks, I suppose. Quote
Tombwfc Posted March 20, 2024 Posted March 20, 2024 People aren't going to move from under the scoreboard in the ESL, where they've been able to stand anyway for decades (and balloon nearish some away fans). Nor will there ever be the will to make sure people there sit. So having this in the North Stand sounds like a mess waiting to happen. It'll just piss off a load of people who'll have to move, or they won't move and instead just complain about sporadic standers who've turned up near them. It's something that should happen, but there needs to be some realism that we've had safe standing at the Reebok for a long time now. This is just making it official. Quote

Just do that Southern block in ESL for now, and see how it works out. Can always do other sections at a later date. Quote
Lt. Aldo Raine Posted March 20, 2024 Posted March 20, 2024 How many of us would be up for moving to the safe standing area? I think I'd prefer it, but I get the feeling it'll just be a nobhead magnet Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted March 20, 2024 Posted March 20, 2024 Not interested personally. All the seats and rails remove some of the terrace feel we used to enjoy. However, it's an understandable means of finding a happy medium for all parties, and if fans want to go then great. Quote
