Given your views on the manager and centre forward where did you think we would be at this stage of the season ?

Promoted, the talent is in the team to do well and I'm not castigating him completely btw, only pointing out other managers seem a bit more agile in their team formations, nothing more. But IE will make mistakes so commenting on them doesn't mean I want him thrown on the bonfire! He is clearly learning and learning well in the main.

Doyle however...🤣 I just don't get him or what he does and would love a proper alternative so we know one way or another. Unfortunately Kanchunga doesn't look like it will be him.

We get into loads of decent situations but don’t get enough clear chances. Not just today but consistently.

No idea whether it’s a bad final pass or the players in the middle not taking up better positions.

Not too downbeat though. Rotherham are a decent team. We tried to play football.

We are a mid-table team. Days like today will happen a few more times yet

Yay, Hugh is back

I know fucking Piddle. just what you need. Doyle is crap Evatt is over rated. Jeezus we have some fans with not much intelligence.  I will leave it at that.

We are a work in progress. these men have been promoted the last two seasons they have been in this league. Only relegated from Championship by 2 points and a canny manner. Get some perspective FFS

Oh you can fuck off, and what does any of that have to do with the mighty Irish electrician failing to do his job from yards out, again.

Come back when he scores or creates.

You cunt

First time I've seen Doyle and Kachunga properly. Both very poor tbf tbh

Really??

I’m presuming you mean live?

Regardless, whether you’ve watched Doyle live or on Ifollow, coming to the conclusion that he is just plain “poor” is astoundingly narrow minded.

Really strange post

Doyle showed great movement again and linked well.

The opportunities fell elsewhere and the midfielders didn't take them. That's not Doyle's fault.

Se should have scored his big chance though.

Ha, should have read all your Post!

I can't knock Doyle, he runs the channels and feeds off scraps, does his best to polish turds.

I'm going to repeat myself here... 11 corners and zero goals, Rotherham had 4 and got one goal. Don't get me started on long throws. 100% total football does not work in League 1, we need to knock it over the top and get more in the oppositions face when required.

Lee for Sheehan was a mistake.

yes a few of Sheehan’s passes went a stray but atleast he was looking to make something work.

lee came on and went side ways and backwards and doesn’t have an ounce of creativity in him.

creative player off and defensive general on is baffling

For what its worth 've watched BWFC home & away for around 40 years & Doyle is over rated IMO, I think League 2 is his level, he needs 5 or 6 chances to score a goal, that chance today 1st half was a poor attempt - watch it again he was lucky that it hit the post he actually miss hits it, he lacks composure IMO he snatches at the ball instead of placing it.

He's a decent player but he's not a clinical goal scorer, saying that if he was he probably wouldn't be playing for us !, however if we want to improve next season we need a better striker than Doyle - he may work hard & help the team but he misses some glaring sitters (and he did last season as well)

All in all its been a very decent start to the season & I'm made up that we are 8th as staying up is a result for me this season - but if we are to improve we need a better striker in January who can score goals (perhaps FV will have to actually pay a fee ?) and we need some steel either at CB or in midfield as some teams can easily bully us - but as it stands this team will finish mid table quite easily

Their manager in his post match interview said that he changed it early on and sat deep not bothering pressing out centre halves.

This is the same week Evatt has stated we struggle against that, and like teams to go toe to toe with us!

Well sorry Ian if that's the case we better never concede first, as that is the 3rd game out of 4 a team has deployed those tactics and we've struggled against them all and taken 1 point.

Do we have a Plan B or is Evatt too arrogant to bother??

I must admit I thought it was odd to give that away in his interview post-Ipswich, I think it slipped out in the afterglow of a thumping win, its clear to any observer that we'll struggle against defensive minded teams, especially if Dapo is having one of his off days.

We shaded the 1st half & played well but went in 2 down because they took their chances & we didn't. 2nd half started brightly again but we looked less & less likely to score as it went on & after the substitutions we had very little threat.

Rotherham will probably finish top 6, were organised & hard working, took their chances & did their homework on nullifying Dapo though that could have been different if the full back had been booked earlier as he should have been  for persistant fouling.

Some concerns about  not taking our chances,  a need to have other threats when Dapo is targetted & a lack of attacking options off the bench but still very optimistic for the season & that we will get better......we were never going to win every week.

Sheehan was blowing out of his arse, had virtually stopped tracking back & he just played a few careless passes. I wasn't surprised he took him off but I would have liked to see Thomasons energy in there.

A good shout that.

There is a quandary here: sheehan doesn't look to rush back, I saw him jogging at times, and one in particular saw sarc sprint back past sheehan despite being much further forward initially.

Something for Evatt to work on for sure, as teams are scoring to readily at our place.

I know he’s only had a couple of weeks off, but Sheehan looked really rusty. Whereas some of the others look quite leggy at times tbh.

As for Doyle, he probably works too hard, getting involved in play far too wide or far too deep rather than just hanging around up top and feeding off the scraps. Kachunga isn’t the answer but then again I don’t think he’s necessarily played the same role twice  for us yet.

Just looking at our superior possession against cambridge (75%), Burton (75%) and today (66%) and we have no goals and one point from all that possession.

Ipswich we enjoyed a lot less possession,  5 goals and 3 points.  Perhaps bossing the possession isn't the way to do it.

Just back; thought we played well first half but missed our chances and give away soft goals. We wouldn’t have scored second half if they give a hour time added on. Need to speed it up a little.

West Stand Lower can fuck off. Never sit with the moaning gets again - kicking off when you get up off your seat. One woman saying you don’t go every game like we do and shouldn’t get up when we look like scoring - miserable gets.
