Missed their goal for a piss so I’ll hold my hands up if incorrect but was he really at fault for it? Sometimes looks a bit dicey when he’s complacent when the ball comes to him, but I wouldn’t put him in the top ten of issues at the minute. If Gilks was a year or two younger then great but he isn’t so crack on.

I’m surprised anyone is having a go at Dixon tbh, I didn’t think he was at fault at all.

For me, Isgrove got his positioning wrong to allow the cross to come in in the first place.

If Izzy was a defender, I’d be fuming with him. He isn’t so can’t moan at him.

Dixon has on a few occasions come out and not got anywhere near the ball- perhaps a touch of inexperience. Beyond that he's been ok for me. Jussi was similar in his early days.

Not saying Dixon will go on to such heights but he can improve and get stronger.

There are bigger problems in all other areas.

I still find it difficult to judge, because he's neither dropped a bollock or made a save that I can recall being anything other than routine.  But it will also be an issue for me that if a keeper is on the short side, there will be goals scored where everyone says "keeper had no chance" but in fact a taller keeper would have had a chance.  I just think you're at a disadvantage when your keeper doesn't have stature and physical presence (like the Gillingham keeper for eg).

I agree, Dixon has surprised me, much better than I thought he’d be, lads doing very decent job for me, today I pin the blame on Evatt… however I’m 100% behind the manager.

It’s a big ask for Izzy to play out of position for 90 minutes but he didn’t look massively out of place.

I’d still play Brockbank there FWIW.

Also don’t want to come out as all Undr the Cosh/we’ve all had trials, but there’s a fucking huge difference between playing full back and wide midfield, even before you get down to specific roles.

No no and no again, the lads a million miles off being good enough.

Half our league games we haven’t scored.

keep playing well and getting nothing.

keep going behind in games.

some big games coming up against bottom teams.  Start shooting and playing in the opponents half, rather than titting around in our half.

the game is about scoring and stopping your opponents scoring.  Simples.

I’m not ‘just’ pointing at the keeper am I?
Look at my previous posts as a whole

Let’s not get it our of context

That’s what Casino would like though

As that’s how he argues on here

I don’t think he’s good enough if we want to hit the top end of League 1

Thats where we’re aiming right?

If we don’t get there I’m hardly ripping up my ST, but it’s worth a comment

If you disagree fine, tell me why?

I do think he’s good enough

He’s commanding with the ball

His distribution is excellent

His shot stopping is good

He isn’t the problem Julie, far from it

Why does it always have to be labelled as ‘pinning the blame’ on someone on here if you don’t think they’re good enough for our aims?

Dixon was a minor villain in the goal we conceded today but that doesn’t mean he should receive impunity from critique.

Lets see where his career goes…

Football is very simple. Score more than you concede and you'll do well.

Sadly we're not scoring right now and can't keep a clean sheet.

Doyle won't score another goal as things stand as we create precious little for him.

It'll change, though.

Big fan of Dixon.  Disappointing goal but could of stopped miles earlier.

Sad part is I think we have to wait till jan for new recruits to get better when there is a lot of this season to play.

We would not of scored in 10 hours today and again that’s not Doyle’s fault

You said getting a better keeper was priority one

I said bollocks

Good teams start from being solid at the back

We’re all over the gaff and have been for weeks

said we’re not creating much last week and was also ridiculed for that

seems we can’t be improved

I’m glad to be so wrong all the time

Happy days

Didn’t say it wasn’t

I think we’re light in the middle of the park I think if teams suss us out we’re light on the bench

Isgrove needs to be the RW

Dapo the LW

missing a true no.10 but I think Sheehan can do it

Better than a square peg in a round hole. Twice we’ve thrown him to the dogs sticking him against McClean with Kachunga and Bakayoko in front of him. Play him there with Isgrove in front of him and it’ll go better. Failing that, get rid and bring someone in because if he isn’t going to play now then he’s a waste of a squad spot and wage.

I'm interested to know why not?

How can a centre forward not be part of the problem of the pitiful chances created as a team, why is he immune?.

Does any team have the luxury of a player who can only score if the other players put it on a plate for them, as that's the inference, and even then he's missed plenty!

However, he was brought last season as some mitigation, so just as worrying is Sheehan, Kanchunga, Johnstone & Baka, all brought in to make us more competitive in this division. None have been a great success to a lesser or greater extent, yet these have been selected by Evatt.

So not sure why there so much faith put in the next transfer window tbh? Evatt chased Kanchunga all summer, just let that sink in.

It’s not an unfair question but being a centre forward in this system is in my opinion thankless.

I think from memory Doyle had 1 header. We don’t create enough. We don’t score simple goals. Every goal we go round the houses and when it’s good it’s great.

The inability to change our system when going down 1-0 regularly is a problem but it was till Feb last season which makes me suspect a personnel change will come again, but as stated before it’s disappointing as a lot of football is to be played between now and then.
