And if that's the only thing you saw from Mclean then you need to get to the opticians - he was making all sorts of gestures as I said both in front of the North Stand for the 1st goal & then in front of the East Stand for the 2nd - it wasn't just fingers to his lips, but crack on.

I sit smack bang behind the goal in NSL. Yes he was doing a bit of a ‘calm down’ gesture but he was hardly making slit throat or gun gestures, was he?

Does that justify some knob head throwing a bottle at them just because he celebrated in front of the home fans??

He (Mclean) & they (other Wigan players) didn't just celebrate they purposely went out of their way to incite & wind the Bolton fans up, I'm not saying that this is justified but as I said previously and you have not commented on - why have Wigan not took action against there fans for encroaching after their 3rd or the ones chucking the advertising boards.

They banned a dozen fans after the fire extinguisher incident the other year and this season suspended a fan for not self isolating(!) so wouldn’t worry about them tbf

They aren’t asking for any more or any less information than they’ve already got with your season ticket. Although personally I think it’s unnecessary duplication for season ticket holders to sign up as well, it really isn’t any different at all to the information already held.

It's not the information gathering for me

I'm more worried there's an effort to totally cleanse the day

I'll confirm with any rules they want to but if they stop effing and jeffing it'll be a backward step

I’m sure they know there’s a happy medium. And to be quite honest we know that means acting the goat from age 14-old enough to know better. If the yoof can’t dick about with their mates for 90 minutes a fortnight then they stop coming and we lose a generation of fans. But for all the salad bars and fans falling down the grass banking of the past, the situation of the players being close to being brought off is (quite rightly) being treated as a line in the sand.

I’ll take the rest of it for face value for the time being. Suppose the first warning shot would be if they insisted on me sitting down on the back row of NSL, bar the biannual occasion of a new steward getting halfway up the stairs then changing his mind.

What crowd violence, that wasn't crowd violence it was a few plastic bottles thrown at inciting opposition players who were hell bent on inciting the Bolton fans.

Get a grip, have Wigan banned any of their fans ?

Whatever other clubs do is their business though.

If FV are anticipating some incoming fine and want to mitigate it, then it's understandable.

Whether folk like it or not, fans reacting so strongly to an opposition player celebrating does the club no favours whatsoever. Doesn't matter what level you grade it as, the fact remains the ref nearly called them off and he will have included it in his report.

That report may include the behaviour of the Wigan players and they may also find themselves with a punishment. Financially, they may he able to handle it better than our lot and, as I said, whatever happens to them is nothing to do with us.

Has swearing been stopped anywhere else that you are aware of?

The statement explained we were following the line of many other clubs with this membership scheme, and I've not heard anything about fans elsewhere packing it in because they can't swear etc.

If they wanted to sanitise it, they would already have done- they have your information already.

A minor hurdle. Trying to sign my kids up (15 & 9 yrs old) as members. I have a season ticket, but they don't, as they can't attend every game. My understanding is; before you can sign up as an official member, you have to have an online account. Problem is, you can only register for an online account if you're over 18. Unfortunately, there's no information in the membership FAQ that covers under-18's. Do I just enter false Dates of Birth?

Way I went about it was that I set up an email account for my lad who is 8. Registered that with the club for his tickets. I’m the only season ticket holder. I’ve added him to my network and we’ve got tickets for Dale and Stockport.

Father in Laws been to a few games so I’ve used a pals ref number for tickets, but he doesn’t want to register and this may rule out being able to bring him if I did it as per the rules.

I understood it wrong. I thought you had to sign them up for an online account first, but apparently not? Still not getting very far though. Managed to enter all their details this time through the membership route, but can't work out how to assign them to me. Fucking bobbins the bwfc website.

Fuck me. I got there eventually. Turns out it's nothing to do with the BWFC.co.uk account you use to buy tickets/ifollow/merchandise etc, which is where my confusion stemmed from. I don't mind the concept in the slightest, but what an utterly convoluted bollocks way of going about it. I should've just got the ticket office to sort it.

For anyone else struggling, the icon/button highlighted below is very important. Doesn't even matter if you're logged into your usual BWFC website account, as soon as you go to the "Memberships" page, it's a totally different account, even if you've registered with the same email/password combination. When you log in on the page below (by clicking that button), your membership number is shown next to your name - and if you want to create a 'network' so you can buy tickets for other people, you'll need to know their membership number too.

(The 'Network' thing is also accessed by clicking that button after you've logged in, and selecting "VIEW ACCOUNT MENU".)
