Very true, of course, but...

...for how long can that be a stick to deflect any criticism with?

Folk are still using the club moving to the new stadium as an excuse, despite it being 24 years ago.

Same, the admin fee is a piss take and Hart's a prick, but so far, so good acceptable.

But being grateful for having a club won't wash forwever and I'm not buying into the FV love-in just yet. Aunty Sharon? is a hard-nosed businesswoman. Let's see where we are in a couple of years time.

Turns out the quid per ticket isn't just an online thing. I ordered Burton tickets over the phone earlier and was still charged a quid per ticket booking fee.

I rocked up at the ticket office to avoid the £1, wouldn’t give me the ticket and posted it to me for a £1 🤣

Actual ticket office staff are Bob on , bought a half season ticket for my grandson this morning with no hassle or extra fees & got it there & then.Realise the rules are different for away games & will be policy laid down higher up the food chain.

‘For the want of a nail the battle was lost ‘ to quote Richard the turd.

Petty & unnecessary charges wind people up & are counter productive small minded thinking.

Playing devil’s advocate (I can’t say I’m fussed either way on the admin fee) - £1 per ticket on all home and away games will probably amount to £50-75k in a year. In simple terms that’s an extra grand a week we can pay to lure a star striker.

(Before anyone takes me too seriously, it isn’t big numbers and I get that it pisses people off - it is just another way of giving the club more money though)

I'm glad she's a proper business woman. She sort of touches upon it in the interview with references to James being the superman, whilst she's not.

Exactly what the investors need so they don't get fleeced or drawn into continued input.

It's also what the club needs and she needs if she plans on making a few quid when she decides its time to do something else.

Tough but fair and honest were her words. Unlike the last thieving twat.

Obviously time will tell, but there is no reason to doubt her/their motives at the moment.

Aunts Sharon is I assume said jokingly , I know I use as such.

FV will be judged over time but season 1 saved the club so think that counts as a plus despite relegation , season 2 promotion another plus so on the football side of things way ahead. Early season form got a few people over excited but if we finish mid table that is good. Staying up in the base line. Given our spend next season has to be top half/ play offs.
Off the field I get the gripes about admin fee and membership but overall the fact we seem to be paying our bills and no staff are using food banks they are a million miles ahead.

I don’t disagree.

The paying bills and staff using food banks is a low barometer though that surely we should start to look past now? If not when. Surely that’s really basic ownership.

I can't be arsed working it out, but £1 per match wouldn't keep most fans away. A third of a pint, less than a tenth of a packet of tabs.

A pint in my locals has gone up 10pence a go.

Prices go up, but in this case it isn't the pound that's the problem, it's that it's a 'fee' for something we already had access to.

Of course, but it appears we're operating pretty much as another other 'normal' club.

Mr Hart and his scheme aside, there's been nothing untoward, and despite covid and its inherent difficulties, we seem to be getting the off field scene far better. Reconnecting with fans, charity work, promoting a positive image and re establishing the club's name in the game (the cunt had ruined that), and now getting a deal with Radison.

Small steps and all that.

That’s very true . Also  in the interview she  mentions added dept that needed sorting that had not came to light after they bought the club then straight into a pendemic so it’s not been easy . It does sound like there isn’t a lot of money available and it’s going to come down to the club being run probably to progress .
One thing I picked up on Was her saying she is only looking to be here for 3 years or so what happens next New chairman or new owners after 3 years ?

I got the impression she hadn't decided how long. She talked about 3 years or 5 years as just being examples, but spoke about keeping on doing it until she or her family weren't enjoying it etc.

The pandemic will have slowed the financial progression, and I'm not sure there is a great deal of money to be made just at the moment, so I'd envisage them to be around a little while longer.

I’ve just gone a couple of pages back on to my booking history account and West Brom away in August 2018 was bought online with a 50p postal charge but no booking fee otherwise.

Sorry hadn’t seen your post @Casino

I’m not sure they have a plan. Let’s see

I know you are one of the good ones pal and are BWFC through and through and only want to see us doing the best we can, so my gripe here is with your opinion and nowt personal.

But I’m struggling to see why you are not impressed with what FV have done and the direction they are taking us in.

Yes theres the membership scheme.  But everything else has been done to make us better, more sustainable, re-engaging the club with the fans, the town and the community.

We never get to see the detailed plans, I don’t want to. And we shouldn’t expect to. She’s been transparent, speaking out at the right times, with thought and precision with the right blend of compassion of ruthlessness.

Without her and the team I really don’t know where we’d be. And she hasn’t rested on this loyalty and positivity  (many owners would) she has strived to do better.

Seeing what we have achieved so far and how she talks about where we want to go in the future, to me that’s a progressive plan in action

Year 1 - Saved the club

Year 2 - Promotion

Year 3/4 - striving for promotion to the  Championship

That’s all we need to know as a plan isn’t it? Not the 100 page development plan that’s shared at boardroom level, surely?

Mate, it’s all good debate and well constructed too.

Ill try answer where I can next to your comments.

I’m on the fence with FV. I’ve perhaps not communicated this perfectly. I’m not unimpressed or overly impressed as of yet.

With the community stuff a lot of good has happened but in my opinion we take one step forward then 2 steps back (maybe a step back) I think of the membership, not arsed they have my data as they have it anyway! It’s the hoops I now have to go through to bring others to the match that winds me up. Continual pastings with good crowds on. While I appreciate they can’t necessarily control results we get dicked without fail. I’m concerned they are still losing money or were as of the last statement. It isn’t sustainable as we’ve all learnt. I worry about talk of running previous businesses as this is a completely different animal.

I am also not interested in seeing detailed plans but when it gets mentioned I just hear a lot of words that don’t seem to mean owt. We’ve done Director of football and moved to something else. Jury still out. Lots of non football staff come and leave.

We’d be gone without her. Completely get that but I wonder when we move past that and look forward. I appreciate that’s subjective and every fan will be different.

Yeah I don’t argue that plan in the majority. I think we’ve looked Excellent and incredibly shit this season though and sadly in the wrong order. The Sarcevic stuff has caused an issue right or wrong as we haven’t looked the same since. The Fleetwood performance was beyond pathetic. Jan is huge for me, will be interesting/concerning where we go on this. I’ve stated before I hope you boys are right and I’m wrongly concerned as it means we are in for some good times.

Cheers for responding.

Your doubts aren’t without substance. But in the main, the membership scheme (quite rightly) is one of your major concerns.

And your last paragraph are all match and squad issues which she (again quite rightly) trusts Evatt to sort out.

I think part of the ownership plan - like last year will be to back him in the transfer window. Getting back into the transfer market again after the embargo will be another massive positive financial step in the right direction.
