Hardly the point neither- Sluufy just being Sluffy. As the top man at the club, it was his responsibility to look after staff and ensure they got paid. To suggest he was under no obligation is frankl

Note 23 is quite interesting

During the year the Club made an interest free loan of  £100k to someone who is both an employee and a shareholder

Wonder who that could be ?

Either Evatt or the SNP?

Overall, not sure what that all means.

The one thing KM picks out, that if true, seems unsustainable, is the 95p from every pound earned going on wages.

I’d expect that’ll decrease as our income is still increasing and wasn’t part of that financial year still covid lockdown.

Hope so.

Given our burgeoning crowds, success at wembley, and battle for the play offs, there isn't much scope for massively incresing our income, unless we win a major trophy!

Price rises maybe, but that is risky.

Buying cheap and improving players then selling on was always part of the plan, the squad has quite a few we could trade to reduce losses. Anyhow Hart said the club now on sound financial footing and he should know.

Leap of faith there, mate 😉

95 percent seems a lot when you think we’re supposedly no we’re near the top budget in the division.

Shows you how mad football is

There's too much information (and not enough explanation) available nowadays.

Had a quick read through it and it says they sold land at the academy to pay back a loan to warburtons that’s now been settled in full it doesn’t say the amount . So looks like part of the losses are due to clearing some loans of as well

Could be worse read the other day wigans were 105 percent of turn over

the 100k staff loan was to pay the doorman off for dempsey

police took it further though

None of this matters until we start losing again.

Then its tennis ball time.

The £95 per £100 is a bit of a red herring (and undoubtedly a bit of clickbait on Maguire’s behalf) as the figures he’s used are only for the football side so don’t actually include the income from F&B, Hotel etc so the overall wage percentage is lower.

Hopefully as we recover from covid and the funds from bigger crowds, Wembley kick in, we'll reduce that wage to turnover ratio significantly.

One huge spoke in the wheel of buying low and selling high, is that clubs in the championship are nearly all financial basket cases.  Barely any are in a position now to splash cash on L1 players.

Next year's UEFA campaign, as a result of winning the PJT, will help too.

Good point - nobody has mentioned the place in the Europa League yet and it could be a money spinner.

It depends if we get through the qualification stages, we don't go straight into the group stages sadly

It's the nobby Europa Conference League, just in case anybody is getting it mixed up with the more prestigious Europa League
