Hardly the point neither- Sluufy just being Sluffy. As the top man at the club, it was his responsibility to look after staff and ensure they got paid. To suggest he was under no obligation is frankl

To be fair Masi, I do see your point in terms of it looking like we’re working through every source of funding, which in some cases could look worrying (and certainly would have done under the old ownership).

When you take each in turn though I think they all make sense, and again this is against the backdrop that the alternative is Sharon’s own cash which she quite rightly just won’t do:

Gov’t - pay us back £[5]m or we’ll accept 8% of your business instead. It valued us at about £60m from memory, which is mental (and shows how uncommercial our government is). I don’t expect the original plan was to have the gov’t as shareholders but when someone offers you at 2 or 3 times the true value of something then you’d be crazy to turn it down.

Fan bond - normal borrowing routes are closed, and even if you could find someone willing to lend us £4-5m then they’d be charging 15-20% interest due to the risk. The bond is a way to borrow money, which can be invested into the club to improve it (as all businesses do) when more conventional routes aren’t available. It’s also a way to reduce the cost of that debt by playing on supporters’ goodwill. Again, it makes financial sense to do so and supporters are happy because they’re getting more than they would if the cash was in the bank (albeit more risk) and helping the club.

Swiss investors - mentioned it before but if you’re happy to dilute your own shareholding then why not accept outside investment if it’s on terms you’re happy with?

Other points - naming rights. Finding a fan who has an emotional attachment is probably your most lucrative deal worldwide. No matter how big a company is, the market value of sponsoring a league 1 stadium is exactly that, market rate. If you have a fan that can afford market rate, but is also happy to pump more money into the club because of the emotional aspect, then you’re probably going to get more than if you got Coca Cola or Amazon to sponsor it.

No issue with you having a different view on the ownership by the way, nobody should have to agree just because the majority do and it’s actually good to have a level of scepticism and scrutiny to keep everyone honest. I’m just pointing out a few areas from a strictly financial perspective which I don’t see why they would do it any other way.

very well countered....The Government £5m for 8% was a non brainer. The Swiss investment again looks a perfect fit but everything seems behind closed doors.  Why did FV not go to the Swiss for money to pay for infrastructure changes that i find strange.  The cynic in me says FV did not want to dilute there holdings because by the time that money is re-paid they will be out the club and it will be up to the new owners or the Swiss to pick up the tab

Think we need Phil Shortland, Ian Firth and Martin Howells on the case.

Stick Pav in as chairman whilst we are at it.

The Swiss have put a chunk of money in on separate occasions.

They are a group of investors using their own dosh.

Maybe they put a bit in and see how things progress before offering up more. Perhaps they ask for certain things to happen, we don't know.

Conversely, maybe FV will only accept certain funding without stipulations and are happy to live within the business plan they had. Again we don't know.

It's purely conjecture, and unhelpful.

As far as I remember the money coming in from the Pink gigs was the reason little work on the stadium was done over the past off season, this summer is supposed to see a large bunch of work carried out including stuff out off last year.

well, no

if the tickets sold, its sold

i'll give you theres more to be discovered if you look deeper, but as a measure of how many have paid to attend its spot on

Well it's not is it.

Is it not just easier to count tickets sold rather than folk through the door?

Agreed, it’s not massaging figures.
The only add ons are refreshments and goalden gamble sales. That’s where the difference is.

Bolton at home are given between 500- 800 tickets per home game which are automatically included as are complimentarys both of these are not fully used

Yep a sales a sale regardless if it’s a kids £50 but yet again this season some tickets haven’t even clicked through the turnstile and that’s come from someone connected well in the ticket office

well we know someone who works on the turnstiles who always knows what the actual crowd is before they announce the official attendance

sends it through on whatsapp

we knew that Oxford was 10k through the turnstiles before they announed it nearer 20k

One minute folk are happy we have owners who are trying to make us sustainable and live within our means the next this model isn't good enough and clearly don't have a pot to piss in.

Can tell its international week :D

We're still in good hands with FV. They aren't just going to massage the figures for a not so quick sale.

Well yeah but let's all keep it a secret as we look massive to everyone outside the club.

Don't want these fuckers ere knowing we have similar gates :D

Nobody on here knows anything about values, costs or anything else so why don’t we just leave it to management to sort it? They certainly seem to be doing a pretty good job to me so I’m happy to leave it at that and just watch the football. 🙂

That's a pretty radical approach, but it might just work.
