I very much doubt a single person has tried to buy a home ticket and not been able to.

No one is saying it's not possible. But last season I had 2 friends that wanted to come to a game (at separate times) that rang me moaning about the hassle then fucked it off cos they couldn't be arsed.

Whether you want them sort of folk coming every now again like that is a separate question, but the fact remains it is lost revenue

The "hassle" of telling them your name and address? They obviously weren't that arsed about going.

In my experience, all of those things are easier than they were a few years ago. 🤷‍♂️

If you’re already “in the gang”, that may be true. It could be a saga for the neutral fan living in, say Euxton, who wakes up on Saturday morning and thinks: Bolton v Huddersfield this afternoon sounds a good match to take the boy to his first game.

Not forgetting the nightmares when Neil’s plans were first rushed in. Regular users of the car park getting parking tickets, regular fans not getting tickets for matches, fans unable to buy a pint at the match (the first time I knew about this, was when I was given leaflet, after coming through the turnstile, for a pre-season friendly).

Few, if any, of his ideas were developed, consulted and implemented with the regular fan in mind.

Why? I've bought tickets for my lads friends 'on the day' a few times over the last couple of years and had no problem. 🤷‍♂️

Obviously not. But as I say, without it they would have bought and then spent money inside.

Completely missing the point. You did it, you know the system!

The "system" was going to the ticket office and saying "Can I buy a ticket please?". When did that become a 'hassle'?

1. When you don’t know you’ve triggered a £8 parking ticket from an APRN camera, as soon as you arrived.

2. When you queued at the turnstile and were told no pay on gate, go to the ticket office.

3. When you were told at the ticket office that you couldn’t buy a ticket, until you became a member.

4. When you present a ten pound note inside the ground to buy a cup of coffee and a can of coke.

The navigation of an impulse attendance for a new fan is not very easy.

Anyway, we’re disappearing down a rabbit hole. Let’s agree to disagree and leave it there.

1. There are plenty of signs, and surely nobody expects to park for free these days?

2. When was the last time any match at the Reebok was "pay at the turnstile"?

3. It takes about 10 seconds to "become a member" when you buy a ticket at the ticket office.

4. There are separate queues for people who prefer to use cash.

1. The terminal to pay on the carpark are rarely all working. The queues are always massive and it's complete faff. Especially for my old man. Previously you could just pay a tenner on entry.

4. No there aren't. The Reebok is completely cashless.

1. Register your vehicle in advance and it's seamless

4. Yes there are. In North Lower anyway.

I seem to remember the new parking app took payment from people who attended an event advertised as having free parking and then the club effectively washed their hands of the issue, simply asking people to email the company that owns the app for reimbursement

Good point. I was reimbursed eventually.

Yes, every home game, and the Play-Off Final.

Not sure, but there's definitely a "Cash" queue at the North Lower bars. 🤷‍♂️

Seamless you say ?

There are also less stewards on and cars parking on the road between the 2 car parks which blocks it off.

I just park up, then drive away after the match. A couple of days later the parking fee gets taken from my account. I don't have to do anything at all. Perfectly seamless.
