Buy ultimately I’m with@radcliffe white if the majority are back in training and recovered then it needs to go ahead. That said I hope the fans are realistic enough to accept we won’t have a fully fit and firing squad and against the best side we have played this season (with a confident and fit squad) we are going to find it very difficult. So yes @Tonge moor green jacket You’re right my expectations of a performance are very low. But as a fan I’m happy accept that and I’m looking forward to getting on my travels again Therein is a big concern for me. If we are short of numbers, and some plan that really shouldn't, then that could have knock on effects like injuries. Some Newcastle players took quite a while to get fully fit, and the last thing we need is another glut of crocked players.

I was just using his quote as getting the Rotherham game on as something I agree with and want to see. But very much on the provisos that I made and @Tonge moor green jacket made that we are back to 14 fit/Covid free players. If (and this is where @radcliffe whitewill probably disagree) there’s any doubt with our players being fit enough from either injury or Covid then I’ll completely understand if Bolton postpone again. I’ll be very pissed off as a fan but I’ll understand why they’ve done it.

On all info available the peak arrives quickly and cases drop sharply so I’m very hopeful the NHS will cope, although there might be pinch points that will need assistance such as your wife’s situation. Bus in staff in from neighbouring areas or other less stretched units in the hospital or calling for retired staff to volunteer or even calling in staff from the armed forces or last resort transfer patients to other areas or to private hospitals where there are staff available. Unfortunately it doesn't work like that. My wife is currently looking after patients with mental disorders in a home, mostly aged 20 - 40. She's worked the last 8 day because there isn't any staff available to cover. 11 out of 15 are currently off with covid. She's the manger and does what she can to help but it's exhausting and the people above her don't give a flying fuck.

I’m not involved in the NHS so as a lay man I take it on board that it doesn’t work like that, but you can’t shut down the economy if there are pinch points and the NHS overall isn’t at crisis point , you’d like to think there was a crisis plan in place for these eventualities. She left the hospital setting 6 months ago after working on cpap since this whole thing started. I can't speak for other nurses but after what she's gone through the last couple of years it's no wonder we now see staff shortages in the NHS. I agree with what you're saying. A plan should be in place but I'm not surprised there isn't.

There probably is, but if you dont have the qualified staff available, irrespective of overall numbers you're stuffed.

You could have thousands extra trained folk, employed elsewhere, but available nonetheless. However you'd then take them away from their normal jobs, and there would still be many of them isolating

I agree, you couldn’t pay me enough to do the job they do, I’m sure many staff are off because they are burned out, without the dedication they show we’d be stuffed. The government have the figures and if it shows that we need to slow the virus then that’s what we have to do. Traf
You can buy tickets over the phone up to 3pm Friday. So I asked them what time they were staying open for people to collect the tickets. Apparently they close at 3, so it seems that you can buy a ticket at 3, but not be able to collect it unless you're actually stood in the ticket office when you ring them. But you have to ring them, they can't just sell you a ticket at the ticket office.

Leyther_Matt
Tbf if it’s better than off sale at 2pm, collections until 3pm. Though there again there’s no reason to be closing early on a non-Bank Holiday Edited December 29, 2021 by Leyther_Matt
Leyther_Matt
Might be worth asking if they’ll take your tickets over to Rotherham on K&F and collect at the ground @Traf

Getting them before 3 isn't an issue tbh, but they shouldn't be saying they're taking bookings until 3, if they're actually closing at 3.
