When did Wimbledon become the new Doncaster?

I agree with them too

I hope clubs don't take the piss to avoid playing when in bad form or with a squad affected by injury rather than covid

Lot's of midweek games to look forward to next year now

That sounds ok Francis but these Christmas/NY games represent a big part of these smaller clubs income, so cancelling them just in case, isn’t really acceptable. Clubs have to take responsibility for their players and obviously it seems some have and some haven’t and Wimbledon clearly have and we on the face of it haven’t. It’s also let the fans down. When the fixtures come out, the first ones I look for are the Christmas and Easter games and judging by the normal gate size, so do most others.

Or wimbledon have got lucky

If youve got 6, or whatever, out with injury, it doesnt take too many more to be unable to field a team

Not you, but some others, even infer theres something potentially iffy with the number of positive tests

Im sure a GP is going to get in on that scam

Maybe the players are using lemon juice, ffs

I'm not sure that's an inferrence that can be drawn, to be honest.

Some clubs have probably used it to their advantage but some clubs would have been massively affected by it.

Theres no way the EFL are making clubs play with minimum requirements during a pandemic. It opens the biggest can of worms and probably legal problems. Yeah Chelsea were made to play but they have mammoth resources behind them.
EFL have made it a rule if you can’t field 14 due to Covid then you will have to postpone.

Not sure what more the EFL could do to be honest.

Wimbledon wouldn’t be saying this if the shoe was on the other foot.

It's suited us with injuries & poor form but I'm afraid I do agree with them to an extent.

I read that Newcastle, with covid, bans & injuries, fear they'll only have 15 available for their next game. Yeah, bravo. 15. That's a team plus 4 subs. Get on with it.

That's more than 14 though!

We and others are claiming we can't meet this level. I don't belive it's being abused, because leaks do happen, and the efl would be all over anyone flouting the system.

If anyone is found to be guilty of it, then they should be punished accordingly.

Of course it needn't be actual covid sufferers. If you have to isolate due to a family member being positive it can rapidly get out of hand ... & very little "proof" required.

That's where vaccine status comes in. If you're fully done, no isolation necessary.

Why players should have it.

They can't help catching it from a family member or some such when at home or maybe in a shop.

Does omicron not require isolation

Tbh, ive no idea

It did at first, but not now.

Last time I saw, we were sequencing around half the positive cases. Now as its reconned were around 90% omicron, its probably reasonable to assume your variant is this one irrespective of whether you're informed.

Well, theres lots of tales they are not but im not seeing it tbh

Out tonight for a meal in ainsworth, which id expect to be fairly busy

The new nook has been busy each of the 4 times ive been in since mid december - id guess all the conditions are there for the virus to spread, though its generally 40 plus and little tin foil to be seen  😀

Id give the crofters a wide berth!
