I used to be of that opinion too, if you get chance listen to an interview he did with Colin Murray during lockdown about his life and looking after his profoundly deaf children. Really changed my view of him.

I’ll have a listen

There was a feature on him and his kids on Football Focus years ago. Talk about a difference between the persona and the real person.

From the highlights I now no longer think the first was offside.

Does the second have a gaining an advantage from being in and offside position element?

For the first goal - freeze the vid from the moment Morley takes his shot, Lee is half a yard onside.

For our 2nd goal their centre half plays Dapo onside from Morleys long pass, the ball is played back to the keeper by their player, Dapo just anticipates the possibility of a shit backpass and times his run perfectly.

2 perfectly legit goals imo.

Brilliant win hopefully a springboard to the season. Baka superb. Morley 6/10 debut and Trafford solid apart from flapping at one corner like Dudek.
Good team unity and much more promising. All the best to Ipswich for the rest of the season.

Baka superb? You been on the marching powder?

Yep. I thought he was an utter cock. Listen to his life experience and he’s a different bloke. Got to say Colin Murray is very good at revealing the real person in his chats

Yes, agreed.  His interview with Stuart Pearce on the same series was a good listen.  I also thought Pearce was a bit of an oddball but his passion for the game and playing for England, from humble beginnings, was inspiring.  Great love of The Stranglers and Warrington Wolves rugby bizarrely and big on morals etc, interesting bloke.

Baka put a shift in, that’s as far as i’d go, but on another day he could have got had a 1st half brace - if Dion had squared to him instead of shooting Baka would have had an easy tap in, then he just needed to gamble a fraction of a second earlier and he’d have got on the end of that dangerous cross into the box.Morleys debut gets  a strong 7.5/10 for me considering he made both goals.

Watched the highlights and charles doesnt come out of them well

That header would have been a fitting end to a fantastic build up

Secondly, he really should have given it bakayoko on the other one

I understand why he didnt thiugh, prob thought it pointless and tbh, it was a good shot and forced a decent save

He def looks very sharp...good signing, but could do with bagging soon

He will.
Even  2 or 3 games he looks a better all round player than Doyle, be reet when he’s up to speed.

Baka played his part for us by the effort he put in, closing down & hassling their players helped knock Ipswich out of their good start. He had nuisance value & it's good to have a bit more of a physical presence but I don't think his touch/footballing ability is going to be good enough.

Charles looks the part, his movement is excellent  & though he's not quite finishing yet ( which isn't surprising since he's not been playing ), as soon as he's match fit & sharp, I expect him to score plenty.

That header he was just trying to bury it, put far too much on it.
Everyone in the ground expected him to square it for Baka.
He’s very positive with his movement which I like

No real striker squares that to Baka who (a) was ahead of Charles for much of the move I think and thus offside and (b) would probably have not quite got on the end of it 😉

Or his touch would have took it out for a goal kick

Was saying the same, his movement looks good, but reckon his frustration would get the better of him if he goes too long without scoring

His play deserves goals and he was right not to pass to Baka, but hope he gets one sooner rather than later

Anyone who has been at some of recent games like Hartlepool will be delighted to see a player taking a shot on rather than passing.

Agree on first goal thought it was offside at the time.
On the second Dapo was goal side as the ball was put across and went towards the ball so in theory could have been given off.
As I said yesterday I really do not give a fuck, we won and that is all that matters. Can not remember last time we had a bit of luck/things go for us.
I do wonder about some of our fans 'why the fuck you doing that Evatt' as Charles dragged himself off to get Dapo on.

He isn't "goal side" as you say, so there is no debate.

It's very tight, but he's not.

Second goal was the type we've conceded all season.

He looks over his shoulder and sees Dapo, looks at the keeper, looks over his other shoulder and plays a woefully underhit back pass to the keeper.

All he needs to do is turnout to his right or just concede the throw.

Footballers aren't bright.

You're not wrong there. Obviously some exceptions, but numbnuttery is common.

The only angle I have seen the deepest player is not in the picture. Live Dapo was certainly deeper than the guy who eventually fucked up. As I said twice now I really do not give a fuck. On the second one even if he was goal side it would have been harsh the defender had plenty of time to do something less suicidal.

Unless youve got another angle than that shown on the official highlights, its inconculsive

Cant see the last defender

I explained yesterday. Managed to stop the vid just as the ball was kicked. Can just make out the blue shirt playing him on.
