Match day kiosks. Get rid of draft beers!!!

One thing I’ll never understand is why they insist on draft beer at the kiosks still. It doesn’t fucking work. The staff are clueless, the kit isn’t used enough so fails constantly, it takes ages to get served, it’s garbage.

Go with cans poured into plastic cups:

* never get a dodgy pint

* bit cheaper

* cans don’t need the lines cleaning

* no pumps, no gas failures

* quicker for staff to serve, so less moaning

* Cans will keep longer, less wastage

* more profit margin for the club

* more options can be made available

I just don’t understand how this hasn’t been explored.

You can have fosters, carling and other cooking lagers, but you can also offer a wider range of wanky ales.

Quick show of hands, who’d be ok with it?

Maybe, but it’s more interesting this time because I started it.

Its hardly a fucking song thread. Or politics.

Anyway. If they do it, I want McEwans export and Mackeson stout.

And yet it’s still an issue!

People don’t go to football for a fresh beer.
majority is desperation i need a beer.

Half time tokens solve the issue fine.

flat as anything but you know what you get.

just bring back half time beer tokens

For £4.30 a pint, I’m pretty sure it’s reasonable to expect something that doesn’t taste like fizzy lobby.

In the wrong place then. Captured market, hence the prices.
There are thousand places you go to and get shite for more than £4.30.

the issue you queue forever for crap.

2 minutes for crap is fine

Is there a reason why they don't just pour a certain number of points and have them ready before half time?

Bonkers innit. Should bring back those machines that poured 6 at a time, or however many it was. Queuing times reduced massively when we had them.

Sunderland

Biggest crowd for ages

Half time, NSL, gas goes on the beer kiosk.

takes 15 minutes to fix, the biggest 15 minutes of the fucking day.

I reckon they lost a grand in sales just on that alone. The staff couldn’t give a shite either.

Lunacy.

Trialled that in my last year in ESLSC.

Was good but back then we weren't getting the volume of punters to make it worthwhile in the rest of the stadium.

And we all pissed each other off fingering the bottom of everyone's pints for bants... 👀

Needs revisiting because on the pizza cup and efl cup games I've been back in the ESL this season it's been shite service with less than 5k on.

As said by someone this week about Missoula...

The club are leaving money on the table by not catering for home fans (and away fans) that want a beer before or during the game.

Festivals have been using those pumps that pour 9 pints at a time for decades surely a couple of them in each kiosk will make a huge difference.

Its the plastic glasses.

You can pour the finest pint of beer thats ever been in a plastic pot and itll still be shite.

Theyll only mince about pouring cans or bottles in them too. Which would take twice as long.

Theres no way Big Neil is letting us walk about with Bottles of beer. Christ no we can't be trusted with them.

If we aren’t to be trusted with plastic bottles then a shit load of pre poured pints - even just so there’s a dozen or so ready to be served - has got to be the way forward.

Probably another aspect where we’re a mid sized stadium that is too big to get outside caterers for this kind of thing, but not big enough to retain much staff without having to get agency staff in every week. Similar to the stewarding situation.

Every game, the kiosks are running at full capacity for a maximum of an hour in total if you add up pre match and half time.

Surely to god they can prepare for that?

Back in the prem days they'd start pouring half time pints at kick off.

Would you want a 45 minute stale pint?

As I said, they only have to be a dozen or so pints in front and it would make a huge difference. It can be sat waiting that long in a pub if you’re pint one and they need to change the barrel on pint two.

The successful bars at away grounds have half the staff pouring and half selling. The pourers just keep on filling plastic glasses the servers grab them and charge folk the money.  Oh,  and separate food and non alcoholic drinks.

Basics of cellar management, check your gas & keg levels pre-busy periods.

I bet no-one goes in there til something goes wrong!
